Post by Fitness Jo 3rd November 2013, 3:38 pm

I've gone from training 7 days a week to nothing! I had overs on weds and surgeon said 2 weeks and I can go back and do legs and cardio
Thing is I'm feeling fine ! I've 3 small children and used to Being busy and after 2 days rest I was back to normal . The thought of another week with no exercise is filling me with dread but I really wouldn't want to be silly and damage myself . It's just cause I feel
So well!!! Any other overs girls out there that recovered quick . It's quite a simple procedure compared to unders isn't it? X

I'm not as got as you and don't have children but I do have a very physical job. I had over just under two weeks ago..... I really thought I recovering well not on pain killers etc so I went back to work on Wednesday- although just a paperwork day the drive to and from work and being on my feet for the day split my stitches so I'm now back on bed rest!
So just be careful :) xxx

Exercise after overs Empty Re: Exercise after overs

Post by jenniferrf1 3rd November 2013, 3:55 pm

two weeks is the soonest ive heard someone being able to go back to exercise so it could be worst!
You are still so early post op and exercise is not recommended this early on, even though you've had overs its still a serious operation and healing inside takes up to two years! Its not a simple operation compared to unders, yes the implant isn't partially under the muscle but other than that you've still be cut open and stitched back up!

I would stick to your surgeons instructions about waiting until the two week mark because if not you will risk your aftercare becoming void... I know its hard but you have spent so much money on these new boobs, two weeks is worth resting up and going out for light walks etc to ensure you are doing the best for your recovery even if you are feeling ok currently ... x

Exercise after overs Empty Re: Exercise after overs

Post by Sassysazzle 3rd November 2013, 4:18 pm

I had partials but went back to lower body CV (gentle bike and hill treadmill) after 3 weeks with permission of my PS. DON'T try anything before the 2 weeks if thats what your PS said babe even if you feel well. You can invalidate your aftercare - after paying the pennies we have it's just not worth it.

I know how frustrating it is - waiting 3 weeks drove me stark raving mad!!! I took myself for walks around week 2 to escape the jitters. xx

Its brilliant! Really happy that your feeling good I just think wait out these two weeks to be on the safe side and away you go! :) pre op I went gym 2/3 times a week so not too much but straight after I did a lot of walks, quite long ones as it made me feel better that I wasn't able to be more active xx

Oh - and - I imagine the reason you feel so great is BECAUSE you were so fit pre-BA. That level of fitness aids in recovery, thats the only reason I was allowed back to training so soon and I was told to be very careful and listen to my body as my PS would normally recommend 4-6 weeks break!

Yes even if I say do myself I'm one very fit lady ;) my surgeon is confident I shall we back in the swing of it at 2 weeks . I'm just so bloody impatient and can't stop eating which would normally be fine but not exercising means I might have a bum to match my boobs soon ;) lol! Xxx

Exercise after overs Empty Re: Exercise after overs

Post by Sassysazzle 3rd November 2013, 5:12 pm

Phahahaha!!!!! I was the same babe, I was a fat kid and to this day LOVE my food so when I discovered I could have my cake and eat it if I exercised I was all over THAT lol!

I gained 6lbs post BA but I lost them again very quickly once I was back to exercising. And amazingly I didn't lose any fitness level either - my first 10km run a was about a minute slower then preBA BUT it was windy as hell so I let myself off that!

My strength training took a little longer and I'm still careful with that now but that was expected xx

Not exercising is the one major thing i'm struggling with pre ba, even when I go on hol I take my trainers, lol. Girls I think this post will help me post ba and i'll come back to it to remind myself how important proper recovery will be. It'll probably do our bodies good to give them a good rest.x

so glad ur feeling great!!

i read and was told even cardio earlier than 2 weeks can be bad as cardio get the blood flowing and too much blood to the breasts can be bad early post op. but just ask ur own surgeon fir your recovery xx

Hey jo,

I had overs and was told the same as you, from 2 weeks lower body and core then aftr 4 weeks upperbody/chest and can swim, then 6-8 weeks can get back to normal.

I'vehaven't been the gym for nearly four weeks as haven't felt like it but I know I need to get back into it  - might do spin on tuesday evening but don't know where /what I'll be doing yet.

Exercise after overs Empty Re: Exercise after overs

Post by Charlii 4th November 2013, 12:06 pm

Like the girls say Jo, be careful as you may void your aftercare. Any blood pumping is going to put stress on your stiches so please be very careful. Although you may feel great, you are healing still on the inside. And also dont forget - any weight gain you see, take off the weight of your implants too! CCs = grams, so bear that in mind if you're standing on the scales!

I know its difficult, but as long as you stay up and active, walking about etc, you'll be ok.

Exercise after overs Empty Re: Exercise after overs

Gym after 2weeks!! Shocked

I'm a gym bunny also Hun however at 2weeks I only just started back driving !!

It's a major strain to put on your healing body Hun. And using that energy for a workout will put a strain on your body and potential longer healing time.

At 2weeks your external scars are sometimes not completely closed together. And internally you'll be healing for months after.

I know how hard it can be but taking a few weeks out of your gym routine is a very small price to pay for your gorgeous new expensive boobs.

Mentally you. May feel ready however when it comes down to it looking after your children and going to the gym is hard work enough without being in early post op recovery from a major operation hunny.

Honestly just please put your healing first and once healed then get back into it.

You know yourself muscle memory it won't take long at all to get back, after I had 6 weeks off during this years summer hols (3 children I didn't get to the gym) after around 2weeks I was back In shape.

I am 4 weeks post op. At 3 weeks I went back to gym, think it was day under just did bike. I was doing lower body.
I had my meeting with my surgeon today and he said I can now jog, 2 sports bras and to take it easy.......  So tomorrow I'm going for a jog.......
He also told me to wait 2 weeks before I get back to weights and bench press.......
I wouldn't push myself, to undo all his hard work. My boobs are my priority at the moment. Xx

That's quite early for weights hunny at 6 weeks, especially bench press. Shocked  You should only just begin back hoovering!
It's usually 12weeks till weights but if your surgeon has given you the all clear then great, however just listen to your body! X

Exercise after overs Empty Re: Exercise after overs

Post by IsabellExpat 6th November 2013, 10:13 pm

I tried the gym this week, 6 weeks post op. And the gym has to wait at least 2 more weeks. My boobs was to sore the day after I had been to the gym.
I won't risk these "£6999£"

Crunches will be the only way for me for some time longer...
