Hooray I'm off for a shower!
Hooray....
Had my second post op appointment today and finally I have the go ahead for a shower!
At the first the wound had not quite closed so I wasn't allowed. However, now the dressings have been removed and I am good to go!!!
Been stuck with the annoying shallow bath and flannel routine for TWO WEEKS! After all the reliance on the bath the daft thing is now, I'm not allowed to have one!!
(well I can, just not too deep so the incision area doesn't get too wet!!)
I have to admit I am slightly worried about showering, hope my boobs don't fall off when I take them out of the bra for an extended period of time!!
well the hot water is topped up and there's fresh towels in the bathroom....I may be there for some time!!x

See you in a few hours hunny!
Great you're healing well, and you're good to go oh it's heaven! And don't worry your boobs won't fall off! They may feel a bit heavy though after a short time with your bra off x

Well I am pleased to say I had an amazing shower..!! It did feel weird having boobs in the shower though!
Still getting used to them, they sort of get in the way!! I still can't decide if I actually like them or not!
Hopefully they'll settle down soon.x

Early days still babe - your brain still needs time to adjust to this new body you've created... It'll all come good though
Re: Hooray I'm off for a shower!
I'm hoping so, I suppose I am just being impatient! You just expect them to look amazing straight away, which they clearly don't! I'm sure six months down the line it'll all be fine!x

When showering, you don't 'wash' your boobs babe. Just allowing the nice warm water to run over them is enough. No need to even touch them. The water that runs over them is enough to keep them clean.
After showering, just dab your boobs dry. Never rub them. And the put your hair dryer on a cool setting and just gently blow dry the incisions/dressings until completely dry.
Any moisture or dampness around your boobs at all is a breeding ground for bacteria so for any ladies just starting to shower, ensuring the wounds are thoroughly dry is very important and a gentle blow dry on the cool setting is great for doing that.
So, the only time you need touch your boobs lovely after a throughout the showering process is when you just have to pat them dry. Nothing to worry about at all hun. Xx
