Anyone still feeling dizzy/sick? Empty Anyone still feeling dizzy/sick?

Post by rachij 18th October 2013, 8:24 am

Hey,

Anyone still feeling dizzy /sick when they stand up after being discharged?

As you are aware I was discharged from hospital on tuesday and have had no help what so ever from my sister.   When we got home from hospital I felt dizzy and sick so went to bed, woke up a few hours later feeling a bit better but when I stood up I felt dizzy again so had to sit back down.

This now has been going on since tuesday and I don't know wha's going on.

I rung the hospital last night as I am worried it may be something to do with my implants.
The advice they gave me was to keep drinking lots and just to monitor it.

I am keeping a diary of what happens to take with me to my review appointment on tuesday.

Any help would be appreciated

Hey Rach,

Sorry to hear that you're not feeling too good. Have you been eating plenty? It could be the after effect of the GA, lack of sleep and not enough food.

Try and eat and drink and that might help.

Did you manage to sort out some pain killers in the end? Hope you feel better soon.x

Hey,

I did sort out some painkillers and yes I'm eating and drinking plenty even though I have to get my own food/drink from downstairs ( sis still not helping as she's said it's my fault for wanting them done!!!! How selfish is that?

I wasn't like that when she had her new car back in july!!!!

Your sis is probably just jealous and just being a little insensitive. Have you got some friends locally that could come and spend some time with you instead? If there's anyone free you could maybe try and go for a little walk, the fresh air might help you if you're up to it.

Keep an eye on things and if you start to feel an worse you should really contact your clinic again/go to see a Doctor at your surgery. Have you got a temperature? Are you boobs hot to touch or are they a normal temperature.

I might be wrong, but I think if you've got an infection the early signs would be a temperature and your skin being hot to the touch, or your boobs starting to feel hard.

Make sure you keep an eye on it and don't suffer at home on your own in silence.x

Yes it's quite normal, like cab said it doesn't sound like an infection but your body is still healing so feeling you may feel bizzy.... I agree drinking lots if water and also eating around when your taking your painkillers... The ga is still likely to be leaving your body and I don't know about you but I wasn't sleeping too well either which doesn't help...

Hope you start to feel better soon xx

My boobs are warm but they have been since I had them done, I haven't got a temperature otherwise they wouldn't have discharged me on tuesday ( temp was 36.2 on tuesday morning @0630).

I'm keeping a diary of what's going on, just so I don't forget anything when I go to my review appointment.

I think also it may be because I can't relax knowing I have things to do.

It is the GA babe. yes  It can cause low blood pressure and this does make you dizzy when standing so coincides with your description sweetheart.

Get plenty of fluids down you to help flush all that GA out of your system babe. X

I was like this Hunni for quite a while and couldn't eat properly. I think at first it was the G.A but also it was the tablets. My fault as I wasn't eating and taking the painkillers on a near  empty stomach.
Sorry you're not getting much help either Hunni, you could be over doing it.
Hope you feel better soon xx

Make sure you breath properly. I didn't take deep breaths at all when I woke up with an elephant on my chest. So I was told to think about that because that made me dizzy as well as the anaesthetic.

So think about the breathing, eat well and drink a lot of water as the others suggested.

It's the GA, I felt dizzy for almost 2 weeks.

Thanks for the replies

The weird thing is I have had three GA's before and never felt like this before

My first and second GA were while I was still at school the third was when i had my lower wisdom teeth out ( 23/24).

I can't explain it. As said above keeping a diary of what's happening.

There are different types of GA hun, so it's possible a different one was used this time and it's affected your blood pressure which is causing the dizziness.

It's not something to worry over babe. Just take your time standing and ensure you drink lots of water to flush it through your system. Xx

If you're also taking a codeine based painkiller or tremadol or anti bs they can also add to the feeling of dizzy and sickness. My 2nd ba anti bs made me Ill sad smile

The co cododaml can stay in your system Hun if you're taking it regularly . If you can manage just on paracetamol that's even better. X

What are your antibiotics called? Is it Zinnat/cefuroxime?
Read the leaflet! One of the side effects are dizziness.
2 days after I stopped taking them I felt completely different so just hang in there until your antibiotic course is over. I have written about the side effects of the antibiotic in my boob diary.

2 hours after I swallowed the tablet the dizziness most intense and when I lay down in bed. I had difficulties to read and watch TV.
I felt so dizzy it was scary.

Hey,
I didn't get given any medication/ antibiotics to take at home - must be the effects of the GA like most girls have said plus I'm stressed out as having to do everything myself. Sis isn't helping me get food/drinks etc.
Well last night I asked her what was wrong and this is what she said " it was my fault for wanting my boobs done, mum didn't want me to have them done but in the end she didn't stop me also she is bored stuck in the house (meant to have holiday from work), also about the money for the house shopping ( parents are away and so the geberal shopping is down to us) she feels that she needs to get more.

I'm sure it's all normal you've had a big op with lots of medication. It's shocking for the body, 4th day post op and I suffered from the biggest migraine ever and I don't suffer from migraines! It's just gonna be your body trying to cope! Hope you feel better and drink lots (of water) x
