i'm excited, so silly!
Hi ladies, I haven't been on here in a while.
I just wanted to share with you all that i'm super excited! it's only about a year until my surgery (this doesn't seem like long, already having waited 7 years) so I'm going to a Spire open evening next month where a surgeon i've been researching will be talking.
I'm so excited as i'm pretty sure he'll be the one I go with!
I also did rice boobs which was nice, to be able to look down and see "boob" rather than just my feet lol! I was sad when I had to take them off though :(
I know i'm silly getting excited this early but I just can't help it.. my dream boobies are almost within reach...!!!

Nothing silly about being excited at all
You have been much more patient than a lot of us could be.
Would love to hear about the open evening and what was said x

Re: i'm excited, so silly!
yeah I'm sure I will come on here to chat about what was said post open-evening! I am thinking of going with Jeremy Hurren Cookie, he seems to have a lot of qualifications/experience under his belt which was a must for me. Especially BAPRAS/BAAPS accreditation's.
He's also in Southampton, so a 10 min drive for me to-from the hospital . I keep kind of breaking it up (1 month until the open evening, about 3 months until I book an appointment to see the nurse, about 7 months until I book in to see Mr Hurren, 9 months until I start shopping for all my post-op bits and then about 12 months until the op... it makes it more bearable that way!!)

Re: i'm excited, so silly!
also... I love reading other girls' surgery experiences but I get so in to them and then feel really nervous imagining that's me haha! I know with operations I always feel so nauseous with nerves but then when I get to the hospital i'm calm as a cucumber. I know i'll be okay... it's just one hell of an emotional rollercoaster, isnt it!?!

Re: i'm excited, so silly!
Thanks ladies, I feel less like a numpty now lol! I'll report back after the open evening. Just a quick other question. The nurse from Spire emailed me saying I can have a free consultation with her before Mr Hurren if I want to. At first I dismissed it like "well... she's not a surgeon so why bother!" but do you think it's worth going? Maybe i'd get to try some implants in a bra??

It's all exciting for you cupcake. It's an amazing journey..... 12 months will go very quick for you. I waited 7 from first consultation, that time flew.
I went with a spire surgeon and I'm very pleased, couple of small blips..... Only date changes....... But it was in the hands of fate and I'm happy with the surgeon I picked.
I knew who I wanted to go with as he was a recommendation off a friend. So far he has exceeded my expectations. Just a really nice, softly spoken man....
They are top of there games and when I read about the girls that have gone with spire surgeons, there's never a bad word said about them..........
I'm sure you are going to be very happy, enjoy your journey babe......... Look forward to the updates....xx

It's not silly to be excited! I'm not planning on having mine til about August, & I'm really excited!! I'm going with spire aswell & you should be able to book a 'mini consultation' with your surgeon for free. That's what I did to see if he was the one for me or not, then will book a full one Father Christmas. Looking forward to hearing more... X

Re: i'm excited, so silly!
Not silly at all. That amount of time will fly by and when it comes round you'll be super prepared for it all. Plenty of time to make all the right decisions and research your surgeon too.
I'd say get your monies worth, at least then you will have all the information available. Also the first appointment with the nurse may give you some further questions, that you hadn't considered, to ask the surgeon when you meet him.x

Re: i'm excited, so silly!
Aww congrats hun ! I had a mini free consultation with a surgeon at a Spire in Kent - He took a basic medical history off of me, did a few measurements and advised me on the shape size and placement of the implant he recommended. He would not operate until 1year post breastfeeding (his personal guidelines) so I did not end up seeing him again, but had I wanted to proceed I would have paid the fee and gone more in depth with the surgery details. From other reviews I have found with Spire surgeons I like the fact they will do what they can to give you what you want, based on what you have got - if your expectations are unrealistic they will explain that to you xxx

Re: i'm excited, so silly!
It was 15 mins but my surgeon tried to fit in as much as possible, like gleaming said, he asked a basic medical history, looked at my boobie picture.... Then looked at my boobs, I tried on some sizers & he measured my bwd & had a talk on implants. So quite a lot really!! But obviously we didn't have time for a really good in depth chat. But a really good taster to see of you like the surgeon or not x
