I've got my 7-10 day check up tomorrow, it's with a nurse,

What happens at these?

Normally they take your dressings off, have a little feel and make sure all is ok, that your not having any issues and then they will normally put something new over your incisions and give you the go ahead for a light shower etc :)

Just to add to jens post... Don't worry if you're not given the ok to shower at this post-op check or if your dressings are reapplied and told to leave for another week or if you're told that you may need to apply steri-strips yourself to your incision for a while... It ALL normal. Some heal quicker than other and for many it'll only about a week before they can remove all dress is and shower, others may need to give the scar a little further help but just reapplying steri-strips as the old ones fall off and others who may take that bit longer will have all dressings replied and be asked to return the following week. Its nothing to panic over, just simply that you're taking a little longer to heal.

The nurse will gently remove your dressings a and snip any stitches that may be poking though (you don't feel this at all) she'll clean you up and as already said, make a decision on whether or not the scars are fine or need another week.

Its a quick appointment and you're in and out in 15 minutes hun. Xx
