Re: The 'Ocean' technique
Does Mr Richards charge more money for applying the name 'Ocean Technique' to what is essentially a BA/Mastopexy?
This 'new' technique is something many of us have had for years!
Four years ago I had a BA/Mastopexy which did what this 'ocean technique' claims to do.
A mastopexy lifts the breasts and sits the nipple in a higher, Perkier position and to do that the surgeon cuts around the areola. They all use a sort if cookie cutter measuring tool type thing as a template that they draw around which does reduce the areola size and then its cut around and the areola then moved unto position - that's a 'Mastopexy' - combine that with a BA and its simply a combined BA/mastopexy isn't it?
.... Could this be more gimmick of a name? Than a 'new technique'?
It would be interesting to know if more money is requested for the Ocean technique than a combined BA/mastopexy?

Re: The 'Ocean' technique
I was quoted somewhere between 5-6k. Not sure the exact figure off the top off head! So do they put the implant in through the nipple? Just worries me as if they redo the implant after 10 years then won't they have to make the nipple scar worse ?

Re: The 'Ocean' technique
I don't understand what the difference between a doughnut lift and this Ocean would be?
I have seen girls that have done a lot of lifting with only the doughnut lift and I wouldn't want it for myself. Their breasts really looked like a doughnut after the surgery.
If I only needed to do a very small lift with 1-2 cm of skin removed around the areola I would consider a doughnut but for girls like me that want a proper lift and has a lot of sagging I can't see any other option than anchor lift.
I'm a tailor and work with leather every day and have a good understanding of constructions.

Exactly Isabell, its fine for a nipple lift which doesn't require more than the nipple raising anyway, but for someone with sagging the excess skin needs to come away using an anchor lift... I just think this is a gimmick name and I think I'd I'd personally get quotes elsewhere from other BAAPS surgeons to see what they'd quote... All areolas are reduced with a lift as I said from the surgeons using the cookie cutter template, so this isn't an additional procedure you get from a lift- its done anyway!
If a donut lift is all that's required the implant can be placed through the opening that would be used to reposition the nipple. If you needed a lift again when you had your next surgery done misswillis, its fine... The old scar tissue is simply all cut away leaving nice, fresh new tissue to create a whole new nice neat scar from. There is no evidence whatsoever of the old scarring at all. Xx

Definatly a gimmick name for a mastopexy / ba , when you read what it stands for essentially it's is just a mastopexy with ba done through the nipple.

Re: The 'Ocean' technique
surely with a mastopexy and ba you would have two separate scars though? x
