My pain threshold
Ok as a few of you know, I pulled the ligaments in my left foot. Am lying here in bed with my toes tingling and leg throbbing wanting to burst into tears.
If I can't handle this, how the hell am I going to manage having a BA!?!?!
I'm not in agony at all it's just the dull aching pain that is driving me nuts. Paracetamol ain't touching it. Shame I ain't got any co-codamol.
Am I being a wuss?

No not at all hun, but honestly a BA is nothing. I hate pain im a big baby, but I had my daughter with no pain relief and my BA & rhinoplasty was soooo easy in comparison. No pain, just achey x

Re: My pain threshold
Well not sure I am the right person to answer this Jemmy!!
Have you thought of taking arnica for the bruising and swelling? You can also get it in cream, ointment to rub in I used it on my children and self for everyday knocks and falls etc.
I would have thought something stronger pain wise would have been pescribed..even as you say co-codamal?
I can imagine it is throbbing ouch !! Perhaps it is preparing you for any future events? But, remember you need to put pressure on your foot for everything...even if you crawl.....perhaps you are just allowing yourself to imagine pain that does not occur with youra b.a. :dunno: There is a cost to everything ...but with your B.A. it is achey and awkward and.....you get boobies to keep Keep positive!!!! xx

OH!! sorry Nats!! and anyone else! I did not mean to put anyone off... everyone is different. You do get wonderfull bonus with childbirth too...prescious babies :ghug:
I was just surprised that BB had thought it bearable without pain relief......but then I was told it is harder when you are an old mum for first born....I was 27
Anyway, Jemmy, glad you are looking on the bright side now!!! xxx

Re: My pain threshold
I think that sounds really painful though Jem, plus your getting overs so none of your muscles in your chest will be affected so you will be fineJemmy wrote:Ok as a few of you know, I pulled the ligaments in my left foot. Re: My pain threshold
Yes you'll be fine with the BA - it's totally different to the pain you get when you've hurt something, plus pulling a ligament is nasty! Poor you.
But I disagree Mia - childbirth is not that bad atall! I'd do it again tomorrow (if I wanted any more children, that is, which I don't!) Hynobirthing is the way forward. I won't rant about it here but it's amazing and it really works...just thought I'd add that!!

Re: My pain threshold
Thinking of you Jem make sure you rest your ankle hun x and then no more messing about with kids in flip flops!! Schoolgirl error! lol
I think you'll be fine with your BA x I have a very low pain threshold and was fine just a little uncomfy x I was itchy more than anything x
on the childbirth thing, I thought I'd be brave and do it with no pain relief.......SCHOOLGIRL ERROR hahaha, put me off for life!! But that's my experience lol

Re: My pain threshold
Sorry to hear about your foot hun, sounds really painful so hope it's feeling better today :(
I wasn't in any pain either after my BA, just a litte uncomfortable and a little sore, but not pain, and the medication they gave me took most of that away too. I'd not think twice about doing it again at all, a filling at the dentist hurt more! xxx

Hope your foots feeling better soon Jemmy.
I also think you'll be fine after your ba as the discomfort is for amazing boobies where as your foot hurting is of NO benefit
Take care and make sure you rest that foot xxxx

Re: My pain threshold
Ahh the joys of working for family! I feel your pain (on both counts!)
You'll honestly be fine, overs are much less painful than partials, so although you'll be achey, it's honestly not that bad.
You wont even remember the pain after you've got your awesome boobs
xx

Re: My pain threshold
I've torn my ligament in my ankle and that was so painful, I had co codamol from the dr's (you can buy a milder but still strong form from the pharmacy but they like to see you). I had overs and can tell you, any pain you may feel is nothing compared to your foot pain.
Re: My pain threshold
aah you will be fine hunny, really it's not that bad at all. you could get a couple of ice packs, i got them and they are lovely and cooling just to lay across your boobies.
it really is more of an achey feeling it's not agony.
good luck hun.

Re: My pain threshold
Are you sure you having actually torn them rather then pulled them?Iv torn my ligaments before and can feel your pain!!! I cant imagine you will put any weight on your new boobs so putting weight on your bad foot would be much worse.
