Re: September Buddies
Pre op ladies, I'm with you on the nerves. Mine is on Thursday. I've just had a phone call from a nurse at the hospital. I swear it sounded like it was an automated message. I'll be greeted by robot nurses.
My biggest short term concern (and I'm hoping some post op ladies can reassure me on this one) is managing my boys. They are 1 and 2 little hefalumps. Are we talking a good 2 weeks before picking them up and/or a close snuggle? I'm already teary about it! Get a grip Nik!

Re: September Buddies
I'm 3 weeks post op tomorrow and I have 2 children aged 8 and 5, so a bit older than some of yours. I was extremely nervous about getting back on the school run 9Its a half hour drive each way). I started doing it again last week ( 2 weeks post op). We have an automatic, and it was fine, some sharp turns pulled a bit, but I had unders, so have to build my muscles back up. If you're having overs I would imagine it would feel ok. Its quite tiring though.
With regards to the snuggling up with your children thats ok. You will be very tentative with it though. For young children ladies usually suggest putting a pillow between your chest and them, so you can get close but have that protection from accidental over enthusiasm! lol
Honestly though ladies, the thought of all of this is so much worse than the reality.
Blondiebex do you have a long school run?
Hugs for all you pre op ladies - hang in there you've almost made it!

Re: September Buddies
Thank you everyone!!!
Kel my boobs are keeping me company!!! Haha have washed them and dried the scans with a hair dryer on cool! They are getting pampered let me tell you lol..
Haha pink princess!! 'Let me see' omg lol! When I went to see the nurse she asked me to sit on the chair which I did.. And then I was like oh do you want me to take my bra off!? Haha she was like yes please that would be great...
Bex- it's very normal :) pre op jitters but keep focusing on the end result, we have all been there but managed to go through with it and you will too :) pick and mix is the way forward ;)
Michelle!! Glad you managed your first shower! I'm pressured now lol... I actually did the same today but didn't wash my hair at the same time!! How brave are we ;)
Hi Katy!! Good to hear from you! How are you getting on?!
Nsaw, yes 2 weeks really, your have to listen to your body and only you will know but for at least a week your hardly be able to lift your arms to high let alone picking up... When the time feels right you will want to pick your little one up by holding them close, no outstretched arms... But see how you get on, last thing you want is to damage your chance of a good recovery ...
I think I've caught up?!
Kel 1230 is ok, mine was 1130... Your enjoy it, the good is nice, your well looked after and you have a night away :)
Woohoo I've not opened any presents yet! Harvey, (my dog) would love a walk, hate not being able to take him! Xx

Blondiebex, I'm sure after day 3 you'll feel ok enough to go on a little walk to the school. In fact it will probably do you the world of good to get out and about and into the fresh air xx

Re: September Buddies
Thanks for the heads up. I've got help 10 days post op then I'm on my own so I'll have to get some thigh muscle implants for lifting the boys from the legs and gripped close to me! I'm back at work after a week too. Uh oh.
Happy Birthday! Did you treat your boobs to a new bra or is it too early for that?
I recently changed from the mobile version to the classic version of this forum and I have to say GIRLS POST OP - you make BA boobs look great!! Great advert for us pre ops. Well done you!

Re: September Buddies
Blondiebex - that robot phone call I've just received instructed me to not drink from 5am. My admission is 7am so I'm assuming my op is quite early? Only for nail stuff to be removed. Nothing about shower products or cream to be wiped off. I'm travelling from southampton ish area so I'll down a glass at 430am and then nothing til op. good job really as my nervous bladder might kick in. I will not leave that toilet.

Re: September Buddies
Haha kel yep they sure are!! I'm not sure about driving, I felt more free with my arms about day 8 so you may be ok... Fingers crossed!!
Nsaw! Thank you :) I havnt got a bra yet lol, will be in this sports bra for another four weeks and then I will get measured but it can take up to 6 months for the final result... I've been advised not to rush out and buy lots of bras because size will likely change as the continue to relax!
You are advised not to drink two hours before admission time... However with me, I wasn't allowed to drink after 930 (admission at 1130) but still wasn't taken to theatre until 340 so it may still be a slight wait but hopefully not xxx

Re: September Buddies
Ok ladies wondering about their children....
I have an 8month old and a 5 year old....I had my Mr carry baby down every morning for 9days before he went to work at 6.30am (involved waking her some days) then I could do the bottles etc, he would put her in her high chair and then I fed her, then he out her down and changed her, and then I managed with her on the floor, my sister picked up my 5year old for the school run for 1 WEEK.
my mam would come round at 9am, help me with bits round the house, then leave about lunch time and then bring her home at 6pm when my OH got home, I walked to school to pick my 5 year old up though.
Week 2 I started picking up my baby for short while and from comfortable heights, hard to pick up from cot, but from highchair is nearly same height as me. Now I'm ok with everything....couldn't do the pram until 9days post op though--the curbs were horrendous!! Tried and then cried!! Haha.
Now I'm back to being mummy, just listen to my body, and take things slowly, find my own ways of doing things ect
Xx

Re: September Buddies
Jen hope you have a great birthday meal.
Had my second check-up today, 2 weeks post op. All is well need to keep the compression band on for another week and start to massage. Ladies I now have to join you and wear a sports bra day and night for 6 weeks, its been lovely without the bra so not looking forward to that!

Re: September Buddies
I'm not allowed to wear a bra at all Hannah...for 6 WEEKS because of my valves...which wouldn't be a problem if my nipples weren't all 'Jennifer Aniston' in everyone's face...like HELLO! So making me feel uncomfortable in that way really, it's harder than you think (no pun intended) to dress wearing no bra, feels like I'm walking round in the nack! (Naked!)

I hear macoms are a must.... As you never know on size after op. these go back back size and allow for swelling. And have got 2 settings......
I'm sure the girls who have worn these can say more......xx

Good luck today kel!!
Nsaw you havnt got to but one however like bizzy says it's great incase you don't fit into the m&s ones due to not knowing cup size and swelling. They are so recommended on here also because even after the 6 weeks are up, many women still sleep in the sports bra to keep the look of your new expensive boons for the longest amount possible lol!
Bex it's you tomorrow! Xx

Did you get some lovely presents Jen?
I can't believe it, I'm laid here awake and have been for what feels like hours feeling really sick.
Does the surgeon show you the implants again before the op? Probably a silly question bit really fretting about size again. .
Thinking of you kel only up the road.. ;)

Re: September Buddies
Yes! I got this beautiful rose gold watch for Xmas last year but I don't have any rose gold to go with it so yesterday I got a necklace and a ring (not engagement :( lol) ... And a boux avenue gift card haha..got to be patient!!
I didn't get to see the implants again but I know of other ladies who have because they wanted to try them on again... The 2nd to last boobyless night I didn't sleep either but then I did the night before for some reason ... Your be ok Bex, you've been through so much you have additional feelings like bizzy but once your there, you will be so looked after :) xx
