Journey home post op
Just one little thing thats still buzzing around in my head before my boobie day tomorrow. On the journey home, will I need a pillow between myself and the seatbelt? or have some of you ladies been fine without? I shall probably pop one in the car anyway just in case, but I was just wondering x

I was fine without pillow on way home but I only had a 15 min journey! I just wore seatbelt lower than normal so it wasnt touching boobs. If you've got a long journey it would probably be good to have pillow.

I used a nice soft fluffy pillow and lay my seat back a bit further. I found my V Pillow was actually way too firm and hurt. Just left the pillow in hubbys car for a couple weeks for all journeys.

I'm with Charlii, a pillow is better than the v-pillow for coming home. Its more cuddly for you to hold as its placed between seat belt and you.
You'll be far more comfortable with a pillow than without Katy. Xxx

Re: Journey home post op
this is something im really getting stressed over, the journey home as I had a 40 min drive last time when my surgery was in Glasgow now ive got a 4 - 5 hour journey home from Manchester to where I live and im dreading it, my 40 min journey left me in tears and feeling sick with pain
Im still swaying whether to do the 45 min flight, ive spoke to my surgeon and he said that its the isk of DVT but im going to be sitting way longer in the car than in the plane
In the end I know that al prob end up getting Peter to come get me driving just cause of the risk of DVT
Im really really dreading it but xx

Listen to your surgeon Tink!
Maybe make a bed in the back of the car for yourself babe. Bring a duvet and a few pillows to make yourself comfortable and you'll most probably end up sleeping most of the way home. If you're awake you can stop at a service station for a loo break if you need to.
One of the risks of DVT is heightened by the bending of the knee babe which is what you do when sat on a plane. This is eliminated if you're in your car and can stretch out so you won't have any risk of DVT in the car hun so don't worry about that. Xx

Re: Journey home post op
Having revision leaves you feeling so different leading up to your surgery if its not something you wanted or planned for when you had your BA. You can almost resent it if that makes sense... But once its over and done with you'll be elated babe. Watching your recovery go as it should do this time is going to be sooooo freekin fantastic for you Tink! Xx

Re: Journey home post op
My kids have got a few of the soft pillows, like the neck support things but in all shapes and sizes...I used a cylinder shaped one for the journey home and held it under my boobs rather than on them and the belt rested on it. It also helped with the motion as I was clamping them in one place lol!

Re: Journey home post op
No. Your life comes before your boobs babe and airbags could potentially save your life if your were ever unfortunate to be involved in a collision whilst in your car. Xxtinkerbell24 wrote:should air bags be turned off xx
