what bras to get for post surgery?! confused!!!!!
Ok, so I specifically asked my surgeon what type of bra he recommended to wear after surgery, since he wasn't using any bands etc. And he said I didn't need to wear one....huh?! I'm gunna feel NAKED!! I'm tiny right now, so I have never, ever in my adult life gone braless....EVER! Ear in mind I've got the school run to do, and God had a little joke and gave me no boobs-but massive nipples (he's one funny guy....) soooo yeah that's gunna be awkward....(Just to add nipple surgery will be looked at once my new boobies have settled so we can see if it's just a case of reduction or if I would be happier with them moved all together...scary stuff...)
So back to the point I'm making, right now I'm a non existent 34aa, my implants are expandable implants with a size of 300cc (my chest wall is narrow so he wasn't happy going for a bigger implant) they will initially be filled to around 200/250cc and he will take them up to around 400/450cc if I'm able to (to create more projection but retain the right width for my chest wall size) I've got a couple of really cheap sports bras I got ages ago to use with the rice sizers, what do people recommend, I don't want to spend a a fortune on them, but I had a look yesterday in town and all I managed to find was sports bras with ALOT of uncomfortable looking stitching right where my incisions would be. And what size do I get?! Obvious there's no point if they aren't even close to my skin and all baggy.....really starting to stress over the little details now....I have 6DAYS to go.......
Xxxx

Eeeek, very exciting, and so many decisions!
If your PS has told you specifically not to wear a bra there must be a reason, so I would go with his instructions.
Obviously at some point you will need a bra! and a sports bra is going to be the most comfortable to start with.
If you search this forum you will find lots of recommended brands.
If I had found this forum before I had my surgery I would have gone with a Macom. However I went with the M&S two pack sports bra for immediately post surgery, and then I bought two from Triumph, the extreme for when I am exercising and the soft support for normal day time use.
I now use the M&S bras for night time only. I have been pleased with them all. Sizing is a difficult one because it depends on your band size, ask your PS what he expects you to be, but obviously you are going to need to buy bigger bras when your size is increased so maybe a Macom would suit you because you buy them on band width and not cup size x
6 days is not long at all - good luck!

If your surgeon has reccomended no bra, then thats what he wants for you for the best results. Its not uncommon, everyones post op instructions are different. But if you're not comfortable with this, speak to him and explain. He might then just want you in something non-wired rather than high impact support. The only person that can tell you for sure is your surgeon.

Thanks, well I think I will just take the very low impact sports bras I have with me, and if he is insistent I best be investing in some scarves to hide my clear non bra wearing breasts on the school run! Xxx

Some surgeons like yours don't want their patients to have any support at all, but they happy for their patients to wear a 'soft cup bra' they totally understand that it can be a little embarrassing going braless so as long as the bra has no wires or offers no support they should be OK babe... However this is something you should discuss with your surgeon. I can't cant see them having a problem with 'soft cup' bras though. Xx

I agree maybe try the crop top style bras that have no real support and no wires plus they are really comfy. See what your surgeon says. They may suggest when you go out to wear a bra if needed but wear no bra at home.

Thanks everyone, I guess if he says no bra then it's no bra, I will just use a crop top thing for when I need to venture out, I bought a white, black and a nude one yesterday so hopefully they will make me feel a little less like I have ny boobs in everyone's face haha xxx
