I read somewhere that they make you do a pregnant test before surgery. Is this correct for everyone? Even if I know for one hundred percent I'm not?! Lmao just wondering.. Op in less than 3 weeks just wondering the ins and outs x

They asked me on the morning, and I had to do a sample once I got in my room. I imagine they do a dipstick not just for preggers, but its a good indicator incase theres something not quite right that hasnt presented itself as illness yet. I wouldnt be too worried, its not a pee on a stick and wait 3mins, its just a sample you provide for them.

I was asked on my pre-op check, I am sure it is a standard question but I am also sure that they do not insist on testing everyone!

They just asked me the date of my last period which was a week before the op, then that was it, think they knew from that I couldn't be pregnant. When I was on the operating table tho with the docs getting ready for theatre the nurse came and asked if I was wearing a tampon! Which I wasn't. Haha. xx

They asked me on the day of my op if there was any chance I could be pregnant, I said no. They took a sample anyway, they said to check for infection etc but I imagine they checked for pregnancy too x

If there's no possibility that you could be pregnant I really wouldn't worry at all about whether it not a urine sample would be requested sweetie. shrug

If someone were pregnant or they had an infection then of course, the baby that were growing inside them, or an infection that could lead to huge complications would be a priority over surgery surely? X
