Very Stingy Lefty
I'm abit worried about my left boob, the incision is really stinging quite a lot and I'm nit getting any pain from the right side.
As I sleep on the right side of the bed I have to use my stomach more on the left side to twist and get out of the bed, could I have done something?

Re: Very Stingy Lefty
is it red/swollen and hot to touch? those are the main signs of infection. if not it is possible you could have pulled it slightly. I'd keep an eye on it hun xx

Re: Very Stingy Lefty
No it's not red and no more swollen than the right.
I wish I could see the stitches to see if they look ok but my paperwork says not to remove the dressings x

Re: Very Stingy Lefty
maybe contact your clinic as they may advise you to remove dressings but best not to do so unless they have suggested. Its normal for one incision to be more sore/painful than the other as it may have gone through more trauma during surgery x

Re: Very Stingy Lefty
I definitely had one side that was more painful and pulled more than the other for quite a few days.
I hope yours just turns out to be normal after surgery pulling.

Re: Very Stingy Lefty
Just keep an eye on it lovely but i think this is just normal. With me it was my right boob and mine was worse on day 2 and day 3, after 2/3 days it started to subside. Don't worry that it's only one side, that might just be the side that suffered more trauma. Ironically my right side was so painful but it was also the one that has settled and healed the fastest x
Re: Very Stingy Lefty
There must be something wrong, when I went to bed last night the pain was quite bad in lefty, after my painkillers kicked in it was ok. This morning when I woke up it was so painful, the incision throbbing and feels like a burning sensation, it actually hurts further up the boob too. My right is not painful in the slightest, I'm worried as I only have today and tomorrow off work and if this does not settle down I won't be able to drive. It's not red at all but does look abit more swollen than righty but it does not feel any warmer......

Yup, suggest you ring the clinic asap for a checkup - at least it will settle any concerns.

Re: Very Stingy Lefty
I've called the clinic and the nurse said its very normal for one to be more painful than the other, told her there was no redness and not warmer but it is more swollen and she said to see how it goes over the next couple of days and to call back if I'm worried. I'm taking antibiotics that I was sent out with anyway so hopefully that should keep infections at bay

Re: Very Stingy Lefty
Hopefully that has made you less worried.
I still have one side that is definitely more painful than the other even though I'm 1.5wks post op.
As she says, antiBs should keep infections away. Just keep an eye in it.
Hope it feels better soon. xx

Thanks Sam.
I think I'm only panicking because righty feels fine, if that one was painful too I would just assume its normal, will keep an eye on it x

Re: Very Stingy Lefty
Its very normal babe.
As the nerves start to heal they can cause a burning sensation as you described and they can feel quite sore. One can be sore and the other not 'right now' because one incision is likely to be healing faster the other babe. Xx

Thanks Cookie
It's strange because during the day when I'm up and about its fine but when I lie down in bed that's when the pain starts. I suppose if it was anything to worry about it would be painful all the time? Xx

Re: Very Stingy Lefty
When resting, the swelling kicks in then hun and this puts pressure on the incision and kicks everything off.
When you're up and about the swelling reduces and takes that pressure away. This is the reason whey it feels easier when you're up and about. Xx
