Re: When can I shower???
Hopefully you'll be able to shower after your first wound check babe... But don't be too disappointed if you're requested to wait another week.
Because some of us heal quicker than others, some will be able to shower from one week post-op, others two xx

Re: When can I shower???
I know... Not showering is so hard.
I wasn't able to shower for 6 months after this last surgery due to allergy to the suctures. I've no bath either to be able to have shallow baths, so I just had to shower my bottom half lol and have a basin wash for the top. It was awful!
You get by though... Fingers crossed for you that you can shower after your check up Charlie

Re: When can I shower???
Poor thing cookie- that must have been horrendous!! I know it's usually all worth it in the end.
Will let you know Jenniferrf1 how I get on. Luckily my sister owns her own hair and beauty salon. She washed and blowed it for me Wednesday and I have been back today to have it washed and blowed again but also had both sets of nails done today after having to take it all off in preperation for having the op last Sunday.
Managed to shave my legs in a shallow bath on Thursday morning also! not perfect but the stubble was driving me mad!!
How did everyone else manage? xx

Re: When can I shower???
I waxed pre-op lol
Shaving underarms is rather strange at first. It feels like you can't quite get right in the groove. But as the swelling subsides the shaving does get easier. Xx

Re: When can I shower???
I had my check up 10 days after, the nurse was lovely and gentle. I had to have some steri strips? put on one of my incisions which she told me to leave for another three days, i could take them off myself and then shower :)
As you are talking about shaving i have another question i hope you dont mind my thread hijacking... x
I thought my underarm had changed shape could this be possible? I have been having to use a mirror to shave and still leave bits behind! I feel like a proper hairy mary! I have everything waxed other than my underarms, such a wimp lol
xx

Re: When can I shower???
Im thinking of it but my beloved hair dresser has just left to have a baby! I was actually at the hairdressers today and had a new girl do my hair! I had half a head of highlights and the colours lovely but I was there almost FOUR hours! I lost the will to live haha, she kept moaning that I have a lot of hair and huffing and puffing a lot.. In the end I left before she straightened it! Didn't have the heart to say I was fed up so just said I had to go and walked home with a puffball on my head!

Your underarm will return back to normal hun. Its just the swelling right now that's distorting the shape of your underarm.
It does get better as the swelling subsides
Re: When can I shower???

Re: When can I shower???
Thanks ladies, useful info about the showering. However I had not thought about armpits and shaving! Had already planned to have a leg wax before surgery, but may have to add armpits too! Not sure how I will cope not washing my hair, may have to get hubby to do it over the bath!x

Re: When can I shower???
I just used dry shampoo for the first week and then got my daughter to wash my hair for me.
Another thing women opt for as well is to go to the hairdressers to have their hair washed and blown when they feel up to it. Xx
