why cant you drink before BA?
Why is it you cant drink before a BA? I know it would be very silly to drink the night before and put you at risk but would a couple of beers a week before the op do any harm? Thanks in advance for you help :) x

Alcohol acts as a blood thinner. That's why lovely. Xx

As Emily has said, alcohol thins the blood so must be avoided 2 weeks before your op xx

The last thing you're going to want to have to deal with is a possible heamatoma babe, so in cutting out anything that is going to thin the blood, the surgeon then lessens the risks for you post-op.
Not even a sip of alcohol is worth risking your recovery for babe. Xx

The alcohol level may drop or leave your blood hun, but your blood will stay thinner for longer. It's a bit like taking aspirin or ibuprofen. Although the effects you feel only last a few hours, there are still things going on inside that you don't feel.
If your a regular drinker, try and cut down a bit before the 2 weeks, it really isn't worth risking your recovery for a cheeky glass of wine x

We're here for Twig
If you feel nervous lovely try reading some of the stories the lovely girls have left here. They really are so uplifting babe reading how happy everybody is after waking to their new additions.
A good old pamper session too might help take your mind off things as well. Maybe book for a wax, so you don't have to worry about shaving legs and underarms post-op. get a manicure and a pedicure or do this yourself at home. You're not able to wear false nails or varnish, so pampering our fingernails and toenails makes you feel better about having them all bare.
And if you just need a chat lovely... There's always someone around. Xxx

Re: why cant you drink before BA?
It makes sense to Have ur body in the best shape going into surgery as this will help ur recovery the other side. U may be advised to avoid drinking after ur BA as well. U need to stay hydrated for all ur wounds to heal nicely.
I love a drink and missing it a bit but know it makes sense to avoid for at least a few weeks post op as well if not longer.
Even if ur surgeon days it's ok, like mine did I think it's best to avoid!
