How long until you went out for a drink?
Hey ladies,
I've been avoiding going anywhere for the last few weeks and a friend has invited me out who I have had to make excuses to loads recently, I'm worried she is going to be thinking the worst of me! How long did you want before going for a night out? She has suggested this Saturday going for cocktails at hers and the out to a bar that has music which can get busy but its not like young people busy if you get me, lol?! I could do with a giggle but do you think this is a good or bad idea?

If you feel up to it you'll be fine Ray. I'd just be very careful that you don't get a knock in the boobs though if it does get busy because trust me babe, it HURTS!
You maybe would be better seated too and be prepared for an early night, you'll be surprised how tired you get!
Have fun babe. Xx

Thanks Ladies. She is one of my friends that I haven't told which makes it difficult :( Bless her every time she has invited me out for coffee or drinks i not been able to go due to consultations etc. I'm nervous about being knocked, I don't like drunk strangers at the best of times, lol. I've suggested going for dinner, just waiting to here what she says!

Ooooo definitely don't go to a bar if she doesn't know hun! You'll only want to go with friends who would help protect you through a busy bar. It could prove rather awkward if you did get a knock and if you're not wanting her to know you could be backed into a corner to explain.
If she's invited you for coffee maybe take her up on that, or a shopping trip with lunch maybe? Xx

Re: How long until you went out for a drink?
I went out a week after my BA, but I went with a friend who knew about my BA so she looked out for me and kept me away from any stray elbows and helped me through busy crowds!!
You will be fine to go out but it depends how busy it gets and how comfortable you feel. Dinner is probably a good idea, enjoy!

Too early for going out to busy bars, especially with friends who don't know about your BA. x

All sorted now, we are going for dinner with drinks and then prob back to hers for cocktails or are local pub. I'm planning on eeeaking out dinner with several courses so will be sooo stuffed hopefully then avoid the temptation of a busy bar. x

Re: How long until you went out for a drink?
I guess until you have had the all clear you need to be careful. Ie no dancing on tables, lol. Just see how you feel and play it by there, maybe select to go to places where you have less chance of being bumped? I've had to do loads of excuses and I think I'm run out now! xx
Enjoy your child free night Alipops :) xx

2-3 weeks for quiet sit down pubs. It'll be months before you can go to a busy club and go wild dancing etc x

I'm still at the wild dancing all night at a club stage haha! so to have to wait for 3/4 months after my BA was a longggg wait! Quiet pubs and sit down drinks are fine quite early on :) x

You'll think of something lovely, its rubbish and you feel terrible for it but its so important you heal well, you would never forgive yourself if something bad happened. xx

Re: How long until you went out for a drink?
I think it all depends how carefull you are, I pretty much went out every weekend after my op bar the first couple (just took it easy in pubs). Yes i probably shouldn't have and yes I got tired but as long as u listen to your body and your carefull I don't think there is any need to wait MONTHS after your op... I wouldn't have survived! My birthday was one month PO and I went out clubbing and I was fine, I did have friends with me that knew about my BA so could keep an eye on me too which helped. Xx

Suppose you just need to be sensible to begin with and listen to your body, everyone heals at different rates too. I've been lucky so far and had minimal pain and swelling so I've found it difficult knowing what my limits are. Tiredness is my biggest thing at the moment, that reminds me I'm still not quite there yet! xx
