Meds... Empty Meds...

Post by leannejkl 27th June 2013, 4:40 am

At my Pre op i said i was not on any medication, which at the time i was not, but while i was the my BP was 160/115 it did not seem a problem for them, but i knew that meant i need to be back to taking my blood pressure pills, so i have started taking them again, Do i need to tell them, or can i just mention it on the day of the op... does anyone know what is the best way to deal with this..
Thanks in advance xx

Just give them a call an tell them, I'm sure it won't effect you operation however you have to consider that your having a GA so any medication may interfere with this. Don't compromise your health Hun, just be honest and you'll be fine.

I would call them hun, let them know beforehand though as this will save any problems on the day. They will also be able to advise you if you need to not take them on the day of surgery xx

agree with lisa best to say as u don't want to get there and have surgery postponed because they didn't know and it was something which could interfere. sure will be fine x

You need to inform your clinic so that your anaesthetist is aware of any medication you're on.

It's possible different meds require different anaesthesia so to ensure the right one is available for you Leanne do ring today to get it cleared up babe. Xx
