Achey Boobs
Hiya lovelies,
Just a quickie, but over the last few weeks ive noticed that both my boobs seem to feel really achey and tender (kinda how they get before you have a period - if you know what i mean, apart from I dont have them anymore so its not that.)
Am worried as its not normal for me, do you think it is something i should be worried about or do you think it may just be the weight of them or maybe they are fluffing a bit??? (wishful thinkin) Maybe if the muscle is relaxing a bit more the implant may be expanding causing my boobs to ache??
What do you girls think??
Thanks in advance! xxxx

Re: Achey Boobs
Are you on the injection or something hun because i was and even though i didnt get the period i still got some symptoms so maybe it is a hormonal thing making them ache? x
Re: Achey Boobs
No hunny, i am on the mini pill where you never have a 7 day break and you just keep on taking it so you never have a period!!
Oh my god,... i just had a horrible thought that i might be pregnant!!! Thats not even funny, lol. Scary thought!! haha
But it is that kinda feeling where they ache and feel really tender. It maybe just the hormones like you say. xxx

Re: Achey Boobs
Hey Im pre op so not really boob related (implant wise) but im on pill and dont bleed anymore, but i def do get all the symptons, swollen boobs, pmt , cravings etc.
So even though your not having a period will just be the normal hormones i think xx

Re: Achey Boobs
Hi Em!!
I think it coul be a combination of both perhaps? But, mine did ache feel tender and still do slighty...not that I would notice if I did not talk about them on here though I dont think. I do believe they are just settling, skin, muscle, nerves etc. and they do say it is a year before you see final results..so by that, I guess, we should expect to be feeling something!! And I guess if they soften, drop, and grow....it does make sense that we will feel it. xx
P.S. As you know I am of an age when 'monthly' inconveniences have left me xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hiya hunny
I know a few people who are on progesterone only contraceptives so the mini pill or implant and dont get period but still get monthly symptoms so its probably just that.

Re: Achey Boobs
Sometimes mine feel really tender, especially at night, as if no position is comfy enough to sleep in. I have no idea if it's anything to do with my cycle...could be...I assumed it was as my boobs were changing as they have filled out a bit lately. Not enough to notice but my bras feel tight sometimes.
So in a nutshell, I have no idea!!! LOL

Aw!! em,
Have you got an appointment soon? or intend to make one? it may put your mind at rest, better than worrying. Have you been massaging to soften everything up? You are still early days, I think they just need to settle more. Thinking of you xxx

Re: Achey Boobs
Thanks mia, ive just googled capsular contracture and its really scared me, it says you are most likely to develop it 3 months po. It says that one of the symptoms is constantly sore, tender breasts and if it is not caused by an infection/heamotoma and it is just from a reaction to the implant it is likely to be both breasts??
Im so scared, i would be totally devastated if this is what it is, i hope im worrying over nothing. Im nearly due my 3 month check so might ring tomoro and see when is the soonest I can get in.
What happens if it is CC?? Do you have to get them remover etc?? Any advice would be massively appreciated ladies!

Re: Achey Boobs
Em!!
Google...I could quite easily strangle at times!!! Sorry!! But you convince yourself you have all sorts on there...stick to e.bay
Anyway deep breaths......ring tommorrow express your concerns and arrange a prompt visit ....as you wont be at ease untill you do.
One step at a time......you are way ahead of yourself here babe.
I dont know the exact answers, however, I know massage breaks down and softens scar tissue which is basically what c.c. is.... and is not a massive problem.
I know I would be feeling the same as you, but you cant think yourself into something that it may not be.
For now massive hugs and hopefully the others may shed some more light for you!!! xxxx

Re: Achey Boobs
Thanks everyone, but you know when you know yourslef its not normal?? I have just started crying to my mum saying that its propbably god paying me back for being so vain and getting a ba in the first place when i never really needed one! I feel so selfish and im so scared of what he might say. Im gonna ring tomorro and normally you can get in quite quickly, i just want to go. I knew that everything was going too well.
Just a question tho, how will he know if it is cc?? will he just know or do they do scans etc?? Do you think i should try n massage them a bit tonight? xxxxxx

Re: Achey Boobs
There are four levels of capsular contracture as determined by the Baker Grading System, below:
- Grade I: the breast is normally soft and looks natural
- Grade II: the breast is a little firm but looks normal
- Grade III: the breast is firm and looks abnormal (visible distortion)
- Grade IV: the breast is hard, painful, and looks abnormal (greater distortion)
Like mia said we all have scar tissue around out implants so maybe yours is just forming now and settling. If it is painful, hard and distorted like this pic :
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Then a reop will be needed and scar tissue will be removed and implants put back in. I wouldnt get yourself worked up hun, wait until you see your ps x
Re: Achey Boobs
Hi em!!!
I would leave them untill you see him...unless he has previosly advised you to massage!! I am soo sorry you are feeling something is wrong!!! But, you know you are not any more vain or selfish than the rest of us.!!!! we all have concerns...you know that.
Anyway, he would know by looking, as you would have a weird shape to them, also by feeling if they were extremely hard..there is different grades i.e. 1 - 4 of c.c. It is something that you can live with or they just change implants and remove scar tissue...no medical concerns or other side effects.
However, you are self.. diagnosing here....... and it is quite rare with modern and textured implants that you have. Make the call....to ease your worry. We are all here for you :ghug: xxxx

Re: Achey Boobs
Thanks nads your like a medical dictionary, lol. They dont feel harder than normal and they dont look any different, they are still quite soft its just discomfort. Not like in pain just tender and sore. I probs am totally over reacting but its the unknown that is really scary and the thought of anything going wrong is awful, I think because all the pain and discomfort from the op disappeared ages ago, I just thought i was through the worst and now for it to come back all of a sudden its worried me,
Thanks again hun , xx
