Recovery time for overs
Hi Girls,
What's the sort of recovery time for overs.? I'm having my BA on the 12th July and starting to worry that it's too close to the dinner holidays with a 5 and a 3 year old!!!

Re: Recovery time for overs
I have 7 kids lol, my youngest was almost 2 when I had mine. And I've gotta be honest, it was hard! I wasn't in any pain, but you don't realise how much you use your upper body to do everyday things. Like lift a pan and kettle, even peel a potato. I was out and about on day 4 but only for a short walk. Do you have someone to help you for the first week or 2?

Re: Recovery time for overs
Hey, I think everyone is different but like Lisa said its the everyday things for the first couple of weeks, and obliviously being guided by what your surgeon says. Most of us can't do things such as Hoover and exercise for 6 weeks some longer.
I had partials, my mum and hubby where about for the first 2 weeks then it was 1/2 term which we went away for. It was fine but I couldn't join in with entertaining the kids, I had to be conscious of not over doing things but tbh strolling about was more then enough. This week I'm feeling really great and I think that being sensible and letting people help me and resting has helped loads. My kids are older though 5 and 9 so can pretty much do most things themselves. xx

Re: Recovery time for overs
Whether having overs or partials Bex, healing is a very personal thing and some women heal quicker than others...
Generally for most, a week post-op is a turning point but it can up to 2 weeks before you start to feel like yourself again. As you've already got help in place for 2 weeks hun you should be fine. x
