Welcome to Breast Buddies Sophia
If you type Mr Russo's name into the search bar at the top of the forum you may find some threads from our members about him through there lovely.
About the lift itself - you'll be fine. Its not painful as such but it is uncomfortable. You'll be very swollen and at first feel like you have a heavy weight on your chest, all this is very normal. Generally the height of the swelling kicks in at day 3 and this is when you're generally in the most discomfort, but you won't feel anything you won't be able to deal with or manage with pain killers and ice packs, you can get up and walk about, your upper body will feel very weak and you will feel really tired. You'll hit a turning point after a about a week, some ladies before then, others a little after, but you start to feel better after that and more able to get about and start doing things for yourself. You will need someone there to help you for at least a week though.
After that though, aside from not being able to excercise or lift anything heavy for six weeks you'll get yourself back to normality babe.
Its really not as bad as I think you're imagining it to be hun. Xx

Re: Uplift and BA
I was booked under him initially with MYA but he was suspended from practice by the GMC last year for not following through on his aftercare and was disciplined for neglecting patient care. I cancelled straight away and went elsewhere as it was all kicking off at the time of my op but he is licenced to perform surgery again now.

Re: Uplift and BA
There's no 'pain' as such at all hun. 'Discomfort' yes, frustration at not being able to do things you're accustomed to do 'yes' frustration at the time it takes to heal 'yes'
But real pain babe.... Nahhhhh... You'll be OK. Xx

You should join the MYA forum.. there are a lot of Russo's ex patients on there and I can tell you there were a lot of unhappy girls on there... some were very happy with this work.. but others felt completely let down and many seemed to develop double bubble. I saw at least 3 girls who had a BA and uplift who all ended up with very high nipples with the implants sitting too low and he refused to admit they had a problem. I had paid to have him too but I demanded a full refund and I got it. Also the GMC dont suspend Dr's for nothing.. if it was a company issue the company would have been investigated.. this was a personal issue with him which is why he was suspended from practice. I dont want to sound really negative but I have seen so many unhappy russo patients and I always felt I was very lucky to dodge a bullet by cancelling my op with him... I just wouldnt want to see anyone else getting hurt by him.

Re: Uplift and BA
Is there any other surgeon at the clinic that you can see? I know others that have been told if they cancel they will lose their deposit but that they can transfer to another surgeon without losing it. MYA told me I would lose my deposit too but I kicked off so much and demanded a full refund and I got it!

Re: Uplift and BA
Not necessarily Sophia. I think you're getting a little confused with the fact that with any surgeon there is a risk of complication. This is a true fact.
This is very different to the true fact that there are surgeons that by far are better experienced and skilled than others and this 'lessens' the risk of complication.
Its so important to think about the skill of the surgeon you're going to employ babe. An uplift especially is a very technical procedure so you want to be looking for the best you can as well as feeling reassured by the surgeon that should you have any complications you can 'trust' that they would help to ensure it was fixed for you.
Your choice of surgeon is entirely yours and whoever it MIT be that you choose babe, we WILL be here to support you
So should you need any advise on anything Sophia, just ask away lovely and we'll help if we can. Xx

Re: Uplift and BA
Did you ask to see some pictures of the surgeons work from him Sophia?
Surgeons should guide you through the procedure and show you examples of their work so you know what to expect from them.
You could also try google babe. Track his name and see if you can find previous patients that have had uplifts from him.
Check the GMC register and look at his qualifications. He should be on the specialist register for 'plastic' surgery babe and if he's also on the specialist register for 'reconstructive' surgery them you'll know you have a capable surgeon hun. X

Re: Uplift and BA
The British Medical Association means nothing hun. Its simply a trade union for doctors. It has nothing to do with any qualifications at all but I suppose for those that wouldn't know, it looks good and sounds important on a CV even if it isnt lol.
I couldn't find a Mario Russo on the European society of aesthetic surgery, but there is a Mario Rousso. Now whether this is a spelling mistake or a totally different surgeon which is possible I don't know babe, but to find out you can contact the association and check for yourself.
I did as you did find him on the GMC register and he IS on the specialist register for plastic surgery babe, but he's not on a specialist register for reconstruction. Now this isn't essential, but if you're not using a member of BAAPS/BAPRAS when having an uplift I'd personally advise you choose a surgeon who does specialise in reconstruction for obvious reasons with you having an uplift. I'm sure you fully understand that the surgeon is going to be creating a whole new shape to the breast for you.. So that's up to yourself to decide whether you yourself think that's important to you or not babe. Xx
