hotel
I live about a 40 minute drive away from the hospital and was thinking about booking a hotel for the night after the op as I won't find out until after the op if I am getting kept in the hospital overnight, do you think I would be better staying in a hotel or just coming home?

I stayed in a hotel after Hun,I had to just because of the way mine was done. And I have to say if I had a choice I would go home. You can relax 100% without knowing you have to get up and travel again the next day. xx

Re: hotel
Thanks girls, just wish I knew if I was getting kept in or not so then I could even book a hotel just for my partner rather than him having to drive home at night then back in the morning. Does anyone know how long your partners allowed to stay if you get kept in overnight?

Re: hotel
NHS it will vary on the trust and ward! However most wards will be 8pm-9pm. 40mins isn't far hun for a drive and him going home will be much more cost effective then going to a hotel. My hospital was a 45min-1hr drive from my house. My hubby drove there and back. xx

Re: hotel
Id go home too, you will have all your comforts and your own bed. You will want a decent nights sleep after the op so being in a hotel room might not be the best option x
