Cold grrrrrrr Empty Cold grrrrrrr

Post by Happy1day 19th May 2013, 8:08 am

Can't believe it I have a cold, this was the one thing I feared and here it is! I'm hoping that as it is just a cold and a bit of a scratchy throat I can go ahead ... And have a week to go, so my question is can you take vitamin tablets ie vit c as just reading my pre op advice and it says no vit e and it's compounds a week before surgery as well as no aspirin etc! I can't believe it have just squeezed and drank an entire bag of oranges ... But anybody else got any good ideas to get rid of a cold? Thanks xxxxxx

This may sound silly but a couple of sunbeds always help me shift the cold. Total agree with the oranges and buy big bottles of torpicana. Xx

My husband swears by berocca, I I'm a fan of sweating it out in a sauna/steam room. I also think getting plenty of rest helps and night nurse! Tbh though I'm not if anything really does helps, you should be ok for surgery still. It would be different if you had an infection of some kind but in a weeks time.hopefully you should start to feel better. xx

Hi im not too sure what to suggest, when i have a cold i feel like the world is coming to the end haha. But, i think you should just rest, try to eat lots of food thats good for you? and in 7 days you should be feeling a lot better. Like ray said, as its only a cold you should be fine :)
feel better soon xx

Absolutely no vitamin supplements or medication other than those approved already by your anaesthetist to be taken on the run up to your BA hun.

Its VERY common for women to come down with a common cold right before they have a BA. Stress probably has a lot to do with the lowering of the body's immunity.

The best you can do is to keep warm, rest and get your natural vitamins from a nice hot honey and lemon drink, made with fresh lemons and a spoonful full of honey.

The lemons are packed with vitamin C so far better for you than any supplements babe.

As long as you have no infection and your airways are clear thers no reason at all, even with a cold that you won't be able to have your op. so best thing to do right now lovely is not to worry. Xx
