What one thing made you decide you wanted a BA?
When was the exact point that had you sat there and say to yourself that you just couldn't live with the boobs you had any longer?
For me, I'd had breast cancer (both breasts) when I was just 24. I'd just had my second baby (my daughter) and had a 2 year old also. I was lucky that tumours were found early and I needed only a lumpectomy on each breast to have them removed, my boobs were kind of deformed after that, the huge dents made them look a horrible weird shape and I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart that I 'hated' my boobs, but at that time all I cared about was that I was alive and I could be there with my children.
It was 17 years later that I had my first BA. I remember we were going to a black tie dinner and I'd gone shopping for an evening dress and they were all strappy low cut numbers that my saggy weird shaped boobs just looked disgusting in and I remember crying in the dressing room because nothing that was brought in made me look good. I ended up buying a nice dress but covered the top with a pashmina.
It was that day I came home and told my husband my decision. I don't think he believed me at first till two days later I'd told him we had an appointment to see a surgeon. The blood literally fell from his face hahaha. A month after that I had my new boobies and have never looked back! When I look back at pre-BA pictures, I kind of distance myself from that person and feel sorry for her.... Best decision I ever made! X

Wow you're not only a cookie you're a tough cookie! I love that you're so empowered, not let anything get to you and gone for it and bloody good on you Cookie :flowers:
Mine was the nerves that i used to get before going swimming, the dread of people having to see my horrible pointy boobs and then i would get home and wouldn't want my husband anywhere near them. Then we were talking about going on holiday with friends and it scared me stupid. I always wanted my boobs done ever since they started to develop, but that was the push and i have absolutely no regrets either x

to you cookie, that must have been a very scary time for you. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 and is doing fine now. It's great reading about people that beat this horrible disease so well done you.
For me it was shopping for a dress for my 30th birthday night out. I don't go out very often as I feel self conscious as after my 2nd child I'm struggling to lose the weight, so I spotted the perfect dress I was totally in love with it but I tried it on and it couldn't be worn with a bra as most of the back was out, so I couldnt buy it as without a padded bra on I look awful, my boobs are not in proportion with my body. I was gutted, enough was enough so I booked my consultation x

Wow cookie, you beat the C word x well done huni xx For me, I had never really liked my boobs, Ive had 7 children my first at just 17. So my boobs have never been nice normal boobs, except whilst breast feeding. My confidence really dropped after I stopped feeding my last baby ( he's 2 now). And over last Christmas my OH went to his Xmas party and I went into meltdown mode, I really don't know what happened, It was like some kind of mental breakdown. It was at that point that I said I have got to have surgery or I will go mad, so I gave up smoking cut down on rubbish and started to save! But 2 weeks on I couldn't wait any longer. I went to see my grandad, explained everything and the following day there was £3000 in my account. So I saw the surgeon I chose on feb 1st and had my surgery on march 2nd!! Best thing I have ever done! And I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. It has completely changed my life!! X

Cookie to think that's how your journey started and l the aggro you've had to contend with...bloody hell girl think upstairs needs to have a word with himself with how he soles stuff out!! Although its not too surprising to me that you've been through something that hard as you seem such a strong person, like beating it explains why you are this strong x
Rather strangely for me it was when I was sending *ahherrm* 'Naughty' photos when i was working away and was too ashamed to send! Always knew I hated them but I really believe that was the moment I'd had enough. X

Re: What one thing made you decide you wanted a BA?
i'd wanted boobs for sooooo long. ever since i was like, 14 or so and realised that i wasn't developing like my friends. I, personally, was never bullied about it (padded bras ftw) but in year 8 another girl constantly got called 'chicken fillet' (altho she did go on to develop DD's by year 11!) which gave me the mindset that small boobs were something to be ashamed of. So yeah, always wanted the BA but even when I was on here doing all my research etc a part of me was always a bit scared of going through surgery etc and doubting if this was the right thing... but one night I'd gone on a night out, it was the end of the night and I was in McDonalds (lol) and this random guy next to me just looked at me and went 'omg you've got no tits have you' i was sooooooo embarrassed and upset (plus i was wearing a 2x boost bra!!). I wouldn't call it the 'defining moment' but whenever i did start to have doubts/get really nervous about surgery I always remember that moment and how it made me feel and it kinda spurred me on again.

Re: What one thing made you decide you wanted a BA?
Hi there everyone, my decision was 2 things really firstly I was bigger than what I am now and I lost 2 stone and I think all that weight came off my chest or seemed to....... I started wearing the Gossard o.m.g bra to perk things up.......... Which I love..... But found I was living in these bras...... Your boobs can get very hot and sticky in this..............
Secondly I was a bridesmaid last September and the bride picked the most beautiful dresses for us all... They were strapless and boned.... But it didn't lift the chest enough and it just didn't seem right........ Especially with 5 other bridesmaids with fantastic figures... So after lots of research I'm going for it......... And I can chuck my o.m.g bras away with my lack of confidence... I have the best hubby in the world and a fantastic mum who are very supportive ( just like my o. M.g bra... Ha ha..., sorry couldn't help that one...).. My friends too are great.... So here's to my new boobies :)

Aww bless you! It's an amazing site =] so glad to have found it, in all honesty i doubt i would have gone through with mine without the support from all the girls on here. Who's your consultation with? x
Re: What one thing made you decide you wanted a BA?
What journeys you guys have all been on! Especially you Cookie, tough cookie indeed ;)
I almost feel embarrassed to say that my reasons are purely vanity. There was no defining moment really. It's something I've always been unhappy with growing up, but I was always happy to throw on a super padded bra. Now I'm 22 and feeling a little more sophisticated I'd love to wear backless or strapless or a daring v neck and feel all woman.
I think I decided I would have a boob job when my hips had a growth spurt at 21, and it's just been a matter of saving really.
I could live with my bee stings but if I'm in the position to feel better about myself why not right?
Nire x

Re: What one thing made you decide you wanted a BA?
So lovely to read everyone's stories!
My sister (who's 18 so 6 years younger than me) announced out of the blue in December she was having a boob job. It was such a kick in the teeth as its something that I've been looking into for 5+ years but never had the guts to do it as I'm so bad with needles and didn't think my parents would approve. I felt like such a bad sister as I just couldn't be happy for her when I first found out. So I spent a few months feeling sorry for myself until my OH turned around and said if you wanted it that bad you would have got it done by now. Queue an emotional breakdown on my behalf where I explained the reasons why I wanted it done: so he realised there was more to it and supported me no matter what. A few weeks before my sisters ba I sat down with my parents and told them I was looking into having one and they said they would be there for me and just wanted me to be happy. So as soon as I had the reassurance I went ahead and saw consultants and now its all booked for June 18th :)

Hangle it's nice to read your story, that you have the support of those around you =] i knew i wouldn't get support from people around me so the only person i told was my husband x
Re: What one thing made you decide you wanted a BA?

Nire each to their own lovely. We all have our own reasons but ultimately most of us are doing it for the same reason; to feel more confident in our own skin =] x

Re: What one thing made you decide you wanted a BA?
My reason was somebody at work came right out and said wow your flat chested you have two raisins on a pastry board - I was stunned and embarrassed and although I laughed it off I was so hurt. I met my friend for lunch and she said I'm having braces and something snapped in me and I made my decision there and then. I am 40 in a few years, well two actually, and life is too short for regrets and wishing I had of done something about it . Anyway I'm booked for 25th may and excited and scared at the same time! Hoping my raisins turn into big buns!! What am amazing breast cancer survivor story, horrible horrible disease xxxxx

I'm glad ur ok hunni xxx
My mum had bc as you know but I didn't realise you has too :( xxx
I decided after one of my best friends died suddenly last year that life was too short and if you want to do something you should.
I decided I'd rather regret doing something not regret not doing something.
My friends been gone a year tomorrow and I miss him so much x
