Re: Going crazy!!
It's probably best to leave the hoovering until 6 weeks because although you feel fine you will still be healing internally.
Re: Going crazy!!
You shouldn't be hoovering yet! Really bad for them boobies x I forgot to ask at my 6 week check if I could start hoovering, but decided it didn't matter cos I would milk another couple of weeks anyway lol xx

I was told not to for 6 weeks, I feel completely fine which is why it's so hard for me, but best follow docs orders. :))

Re: Going crazy!!
I've exhausted all friends favours, with washing my hair, hoovering, changing beds, taking the rubbish out etc, that I just don't want to ask anymore. I'm terrible at asking for help and these things got done cuz they offered, I really want to do these things myself!!

Re: Going crazy!!
It's hard when you really want to do something, but arnt allowed! And I hate everyone else's hoovering they just don't do it right lol! But I also hate hoovering, so hey another couple of weeks with a little dust in the corners won't hurt

Re: Going crazy!!
Definitely NO hoovering. You want to put as little pressure as you can on your upper body and it takes a lot of pressure pushing and pulling a hover, you may as well be at the gym on the weights! Its just the same pressure babe and you're strictly advised no excercise or anything that's going to add pressure to the upper body.
Most of us women will absolutely understand the frustration of not being able to clean as you normally would for that six week healing period but if that's what's going to help give you the result your hoping for, not put your healing back or possible risk a complication that's going to put you back in theatre, then that's what we have to sweetie. Xx

Re: Going crazy!!
No I wasn't given the all clear, I'm just a stubborn **naughty word** and haven't for anyone else to do it. Also, I have wooden floors so it's not that hard and I had already left the Hoover out before I had my op so I haven't lifted it. Don't Hoover though, it's not a good idea xx

Re: Going crazy!!
Oh I'm sure I've done things I'm not really supposed to but I really didn't feel any strain and did it very carefully.
I do have wooden floors and carpet in the bedrooms and I do get overexcited with hoovering so I can't guarantee I won't do damage. Best stay away x

Re: Going crazy!!
I do! It's driving me mad!! They just don't do it properly. It's like cleaning the bathroom ( they think I'm not allowed to do that either lol). There's always bits they miss! X

Re: Going crazy!!
I haven't hoovered today.. Lol! I can't stand dust, even if it meant hands and knees with a dustpan and brush then I would do it. Also, my children play on the floor and it makes me feel sick to think they are playing in dust so that's why I have been doing it. I probably should think about things before I do them, I tend not to do that! lol xx

Re: Going crazy!!
I understand what your saying, about the little uns playing on the floor! ( I have 7) But honestly huni, you can do some serious damage. That's why it's recommended that you have someone to help for at least 2 weeks. But definatly no hoovering for 6 weeks x us women like to think we can take on the world, but sometimes we need to rest, and this is one of those times. Get your OH to Hoover! X
