I have 11 days till my op now and i am crazy nervous!! I keep getting myself worked up and its worse at bedtime, can i take sleeping tablets for my insomnia? Has anyone taken sleep aid or anything before? I feel shattered from not sleeping and i need to try to get some sleep beore my op. Thanks girls xxx

Re: Crazy nervous!!
Hi Pammie, it is normal to feel excited. I would not take any sleeping pills, especially a few days before the operation. Try to avoid medications as much as possible in these coming days. Remember that after the surgery you will be taking strong drugs and you will be resting most of the time, and the more you sleep the better so you "avoid" the pain/discomfort in the first few days.

Re: Crazy nervous!!
Hi hun, its understandable that ur nervous as its a big thing ur going through. I've got mine Saturday but im am actually fine at the minute, I did have a rough night last night and kept waking up and I am dreaming about boobs every night! You could try ur pharmacist for herbal remedies and if that fails go see ur doc and explain ur having an op and U can't sleep and could he prescribe something for a couple of days. But check with ur PS that ur allowed to take them and it won't effect anything as I know U can take certain pain killers before an op etc.
U have nothing to worry about try and think about the positives xxx

Re: Crazy nervous!!
It's just the pre-op jitters Pammie. Very common and something so many of us reading you can relate to.
As xaxa has already stated, taking any medication that isn't necessary for a medical condition that the clinic are already aware of really isn't advisable.
You could try drinking some chamomile tea to help your nerves hun and reading through the surgery stories here helps lots too. Reading the stories from women who have actually stood in your shoes, felt all the emotions you are right now and have come through the other side so happy is the best medicine I think hun.
You really are going to be OK Pammie. This is simply just the fear of the unknown you're experiencing, but I promise Pammie, the surgery is all over in the blink of an eye. There's nothing at all to worry about and when you wake up, you'll have the new boobs you've waited all this time for. xxx

Re: Crazy nervous!!
You have absolutely nothing to worry about Pammie, try and think of the reasons WHY you decided to go through with this in the first place. I'm sure you would feel much worse if you walked away so remind yourself that there are so many of us who go through it, surely it can't be that bad.
It may help you to read through some surgery stories, I found these REALLY helped me as I knew exactly what to expect and when to expect it so it was all familiar to me.
I assure you though, you'll go to sleep feeling nervous, tired and excited and wake up with some fantastic knockers! x
