how long... numbness?
Hi ladies,
So i'm starting to freak out that i'm never going to regain feeling in my boobies again
I can feel about the first inch of the top of my chest but nothing below or to the side, especially not my nips.
So the big question is how long until you got your nipple sensation back? thanks x

Can be up to a year Hun x I think most people get some feeling back a lot quicker than that! But everyone is different x

Re: how long... numbness?
Sensation generally fully returns within a year, although for a small few it can take up to two years and rarely for a BA some will not gain sensation back at all.
In my 3 years here though I know of only 2 women out of thousands who have not had sensation return. Xx

Re: how long... numbness?
Haha the nipples being very sensitive is very common babe. I used the little round cotton make-up pads over my nipples to spare my blushes and they can sometimes feel painful so the softness helps, other women prefer to use breast feeding pads for this. X
Re: how long... numbness?
KFS - but the underside of my breast is less sensitive, not sure if that's numb..
I'm almost 3 weeks post-op and at 10 days was given the go-ahead to massage my scars and my breasts. I'm hoping this may play a role in stimulating the return of sensation?
On the upside - I don't remember caressing my little pre-BA boobs much
Loclo - my nipples are super sensitive.. which reminds me of an article I read a while back by a woman who designs BA sports bras/ tops - for support and most importantly, to conceal when her 'headlights' were on... Needless to say, I'm ordering one soon!

Re: how long... numbness?
My feeling has come back massively over the last few days!
I can feel my whole boobs (although less sensation on the bottom half at the moment), My nipples were super sensitive last week, To the point gentle baby wipe action was a bit sore.
I had the funny sunburn feeling for a few days and when that calmed down I realised I could feel things again (cookie explained it was things inside mending themselves). Nipples are not painfully sensitive now, but still sensitive.
Cottom pads! Excellent tip! I have just been wearing a scarf all the time to hide this but I can't do that if it gets warm!!!

Haha i dread the stiff nips. I have never really had much boob sensation but can tell the numb bits. Hope you get your sensation back soon chicken x
Re: how long... numbness?
I'm told it can take up to a year, I had crazy sensitive nips at first and now they're back to normal. Still have numbness above the scars x
