Re: Just washed my own hair!
I remember that i was told not to allow the bath water to get onto the dressings as it was dirty water (not that your dirty lol) but you know what i mean. I was told I was able to shower no probs but make sure you dry your dressings with the hair dryer on low heat if you get them wet. xxx

ooonthats a good idea. im thinkin tomorrow ill use a flannel and soap on my "bits" before i let the surgeon check them but not get anything on my dressings and just babywipe the rest of me and just wait for him to definitely say it's ok to bathe. failing that I'm going to a premier inn with my OH thursday so he can help me if all goes "tits up"

Re: Just washed my own hair!
I had to flip over and get on my knees to get out of the bath so I didnt put any weight on my arms. I had these waterproof strips my PS gave me over my scars so I could bathe ok, all you have to do afterwards is just give them a blow over with a hairdryer. They are breathable ones too.

Re: Just washed my own hair!
It's so nice washing your hair isn't it!!
I managed to wash mine over the bath 5 days post op but not actually sure how clean I got it and gave up on the hairdryer as it hurt too much. I now have a nice, curly, half-clean mop. very attractive.
I haven't been able to sit in the bath properly i've just sat in a shallow bath on my knees - too scared to sit down incase I can't get out again!
Still can't put my own socks on though - fair play!!

Wooo congrats huni. The socks are also a fantastic achievement.
That first post op shower/bath feels amazing. I couldn't stop giggling with joy when I had my first shower.
Just make sure the scars are dried well and you'll be fine.
Jeni xx

The first proper bath/shower is heaven....makes the whole journey more managable....and yes ....the boobies stick out through the bubbles...ah! dreams come true..sometimes
Good luck tommorrow. xxxx
