The first shower..... mission!
Well. That was interesting!
I have just spent AGES having my first real 'shower'... and by that I mean I have been told to keep my new boobs TOTALLY dry - not even steam near them. So covered top half, cool shower bottom half with as little water as possible (loofah on stick amazing for this to stop over reaching). Then wash top half very carefully without splashing a drop near my boobies. What a mission this was. I was so paranoid and careful it took ages. Its the first time I have been stood up with my sports bra fully off which felt super freaky!! And I popped a nice clean one on. But all the activity seems to have made them swell up. They look HUGE right now. Massive!
Haha well on the up side nothing hurts and I feel way more human and nice and clean and girly! Baby wipes and strip washes will only get you so far! I even managed a nice dermalogical facial! What a nice feeling! Ahhhhhhhhhh xxx

Re: The first shower..... mission!
Do you have a bath babe? A shallow bath would be tater if you have one and you can relax in some bubbles but keep upper half dry and just sponge your upper half clean.
If you don't have a bath (like me) then its really best if you have an upper body wash in the sink babe and just sponge clean your upper body. Its easier than having to manipulate your body to avoid any shower spray. Then just shower your lower half clean with a good wash. Xx

Omg that sounds like a mission! Def recommend the bath if you've got one. I just had a daily shallow bubble bath and used a well wrung out flannel on the bits of my top half not covered by my bra.

Hahaha yes ladies I do have a bath! I thought it would be easier. WRONG! I will have luke warm very shallow bath. The nurse said that even that (with the damp steam) might make my stitches wet tho so I will do it with my sports bra on!? That should be ok right?
Lol Loclo I was on the wipes til this, I just could not brave it before. But I was feeling confident and gross enough! At least its winter so we are not all sweaty! x

Oh I was doing my top half from the sink with a well wrung out flannel! Still a mission tho!
I am booked for a wash cut and blow dry tomorrow afternoon at the salon, and I am feeling up to it so that will be lovely. At least I can sit still for that! x

Re: The first shower..... mission!
That does sound like a mission and a half, I stuck to baths and even that was a nightmare, luke warm and just a quick scrub and out. The first proper shower is divine though.
Re: The first shower..... mission!
Lol mission impossible tune now in my head every time I think of doing things! Thanks guys! :) Can't wait for a proper shower when I am healed! x

Re: The first shower..... mission!
Eeeeeeeek I hated not being able to shower or bath. I ended up using wet wipes for the too half and my OH showered the bottom half of me whilst I was stood up in the shower with a towel held over my boobs just in case any water sprayed up. Maybe give that a try as you'll feel cleaner plus no chance of hurting yourself trying to get out of the bath. Re the hair wash get yourself booked in for a wash with a junior at a salon as you'll only pay peanuts for it and makes you feel so much nicer x x

Re: The first shower..... mission!
This made me laugh.. it does sound like a mission and ive been thinking of this dilemma as im about to book my BA..
How do you manage to wash your hair before your allowed to shower? Some girls have said theyve gone to the hairdresser but i wonder how you do it without getting the rest of you!

Re: The first shower..... mission!
was going to have a shower today but reading this I think I will go for a shallow luke warm bath with bra still on... and use wipes to wipe down underneath bra slightly... jenniferr1 my mum bless her has offered to wash my hair by leaning over bath either tilt back from a chair or lean over depending which is most comfortable xxx
