A few silly questions
When did you start wearing tops etc that slip over your head instead of ones that button up?
Did you gain weight immediately post op and if so how long did it take to go? I am 8+ pounds from before my op and even though the lovely cookie has told me not to stress I can't help it.
When did you start doing things for yourself again ie wash my hair, meal preparation etc?
When did you start walking again?
Xxxx

Re: A few silly questions
i was day 2 i think when i started walking around the kitchen etc just to get moving, ventured out the house on day 3 but oh my after about 20 mins by boobs felt sooooooo heavy and it really tired me out. Yesterday (day 4) was my turning point and i was up and about all day (didn't leave the house tho, tooo cold!)
i've not had very good arm movement. As of yesterday i've been able to do the basics, make a cuppa, cook dinner, put makeup on etc but i can't extend them above shoulder height so i'm still having trouble dressing myself (grim) and there's no way i'd be able to do my own hair at all.
Also, i haven't weighed myself but i my belly is bigger, i was hoping it'd fix itself but to no avail so i've bought some senekot i'll be taking tonight and once everything is 'regular' again and you get mobile then i've read on here the weight pretty much drops off. its just bloating and excess air etc from the op
how are you feeling lovely? xx

Basically when you feel able to lift your arms without stretching hun. About a week post-op, maybe less, maybe more dependent on your healing.

Yes, fluid and air add additional weight initially after surgery. It took two weeks for my weight to return to normal. In saying that I was careful not to gain further wait during recovery by eating healthily and lots of long walks, so after all the surgery effects had worn off, I'd gained just over a pound which was my implant weight.
You'll only gain weight after a BA if you allow yourself to hun by being lazy and pigging out lol.

After about a week hun. I spent the first few days resting, but then then I motivated myself to get up and start doing things.
When did you start walking again?
From day 3, just starting with a walk around the garden to get some fresh air. Then the next day a short walk out side, then the next, a walk to the shop and back and so on until I was able to take a good hours walk. I'd do that twice a day. My second surgery did take it out of me though as I had very invasive surgery and it took me weeks to be able to build up to a good long walk.
Main aim is to listen to your own body babe. Our recoveries will all vary because our healing will vary, so its best to just focus on yourself hun and do what you can when you can and rest when your body tells you to. Xx
Re: A few silly questions
I am feeling okay. I am sore but it's bearable. I feel ready to walk etc, just up and down the road but mum and boyfriend keep telling me not to and that it's too soon. So worried about this weight as it seems such a large amount to have gained. I am eating healthy and drinking lots of water but it's not going anywhere yet. Hope you are all doing okay? Xxx

Re: A few silly questions
You're not too soon for going for a walk if you feel able hun. Quite the opposite, if you stay in bed/sat down its actually worse for your recovery.
Being up and mobile is going to encourage your healing and help get you back to normality quicker baby - if you're unsure, call your clinic babe and they too will confirm that the walk up and down the road will do you the world of good hun. Xx

Re: A few silly questions
Cupcakeaholic, I'm sure the weight you've gained is fluid and air, plus implant weight. You'd gain 1lb of weight in a week if you ate an extra 3500 calories, so I doubt you've eaten enough or sat still enough for that to be the cause. :) I'm sure if you keep drinking your water and eating healthily it will go in a few days. xxx

Re: A few silly questions
The weight will probably just be bloating and a bit of constipation! From the GA and painkillers. x
