Correct sports bra size?
Ok girls, help!! How do I know I am wearing the correct size sports bra? I am currently wearing a DD in the marks and spencer range and shock absorber, however a marks and spencer D cup seems to fit aswell? I have been to some online size calculators and they have given me anything from an A cup to a F cup lol x I have a 29 inch ribcage and my boobies are 35 inches, anyone got the same if so what size are you wearing? X I've never had to worry before a fits all confused me a bit x

Re: Correct sports bra size?
Hey hun,
Have you thought of going into m&s and getting fitter for a sports bra? I had been wearing 36D after my BA but went in a few weeks after and was measured in there and was a 34DD. The 36D still feel fine but 34DD fit better especially the zip one for running. I've just bought a 34DD shock absorber run bra and that fits fine also. I'm wondering if you shop outside of m&s if you need a different size.
Not sure if I've helped or confused you lol!! X x

Oh it's all confused me to be honest lol x I will pop into m&s in the week and see what they say? I intend to go to bravissimo as soon as I can wear a proper bra lol! It's funny isnt it, all I've ever worried about before is wether they have enough padding! I just don't want to damage my new boobies now I actually have some c

M&S are rubbish at fitting. Go to bravissimo, they fit sports bras as well as normal bras. x

Re: Correct sports bra size?
Why don't you go and have. Fitting for a sportsbra babe if you don't feel you're wearing the right size.
Forget calculations. They're rubbish and have had women in the wrong sized bras for years.
The basic rules are:
Ensure your band is quite snug, so you have room enough for only two fingers on the last hooks.
Ensure the back of the bra doesn't ride up. If it doesn't the band is too big
Make sure your boobs sit nicely in the bra. If they're spilling over, the cup is too small. If the cups are wrinkling, its too big.
Don't worry about wearing different sizes. One manufacturer may well size differently to another, just as top shop sizes are very different to Next.
As long as the bra sits right and is comfortable I wouldn't worry hun. X

Re: Correct sports bra size?
I went to John Lewis and got fitted for a sports bra, they were really good.
The lady had experience of fitting after ba's and she told me that the seams of the cups of the sports bra needed to further back than my breast tissue at the sides. She seemed to know her stuff. But saying that 32F fitted in that style, I ordered a 32F in another style which is too big and I had to go to Debenhams for an emergency bra (don't ask) and got fitted in a 30F which fits lovely too. So it's all a bit confusing!

Re: Correct sports bra size?
I'm having the same problem Lisa, but have been hesitant about getting fitted as my boobs keep changing every day! I'm also having trouble with the bras rubbing my incisions. Have started putting panty liners there to cushion them but does anyone have any other tips?xx

Re: Correct sports bra size?
Yeah mine are changing everyday, maybe that's why one day one sports bra seems to fit fine yet the next it doesn't lol x I think I will just stick with the shock absorber and the macom x other than the bra issue I feel great! I will update the picture trail later x how is everything for you Hannah?

Re: Correct sports bra size?
Lisa / Tan - Just been to M+S for the 3rd time tonight and bought a 36D this time and it fits much better around the back. I'm presuming that it's swelling as I used to be a 32 back.
Does anyone have any tips for preventing rubbing against the incisions? I've been using panty liners but wondered if there were any other suggestions?x

Re: Correct sports bra size?
It's not the cup sizes that are supportive, it is the band size. So it is important you wear the correct band size. As you measure 29" you could be a 30 band (although some may find this too tight) or a 32 band. I'd guess at a 30DD or 32D but you may find that you are bigger in the cup. It's always best to get a proper fitting.
