I got told to stop too, you must stop it especially as you've been told to as it increases the risks of blood clots and deep vein thrombosis.

Re: cerrazette pill and my op
Thanks alot of people have told me to just not mention it and just dont take it on the day but i thought if its harmful to me there must be a reason why he is telling me and after all he is the one that knows best. I have had other operations where i didnt stop taking it and never got advised to so this is why i have been so confused but defo gona stop. It will be worth it

Re: cerrazette pill and my op
It's not a huge risk, and there are other factors that contribute to DVT/blood clots but the pill does increase the risk so it's worth following the advice you've been given and minimizing the risk for yourself x

Re: cerrazette pill and my op
I wasn't told to stop taking my contraceptive pill however I decided I would stop as I didn't want to increase the risk of DVT. Although its small, it's there. I would defiantly listen to your ps, and do what your told lol xx

Re: cerrazette pill and my op
I stopped taking my pill for a month too- it wasn't ideal as I get painful cysts without it, but like you, I didn't want to risk anything happening to me during op or recovery.
I was allowed to start taking it again 10 days post op, but it really messed with my period schedule! haha!
Definitely take the advice of your ps. I don't think it would ever help to lie to them about ANYTHING, otherwise its your fault if something goes wrong, and they can't do anything to help if they don't know!

Re: cerrazette pill and my op
Maybe speak to your surgeon, they might be able to give you a blood thinning injection instead, so you can stay on it. The reason they usually ask you to stop it is the increase chance of DVT.
I have depo injection which has very similar hormones in it to Cerazette but obviously you can't stop taking the injection! Unless I let it run out. But nothing was said to me at all.

The injection is fine, it's the pill that can cause DVT.

I thought so to, but not according to the leaflet that comes with the injection. DVT is still a risk with it.

Re: cerrazette pill and my op
What if you come on when you're due for your op then? I have a feeling this will happen to me =[ it's just sods law really isn't it?! x
Re: cerrazette pill and my op
That's strange, you never hear of anyone being told the injection is risky while going under GA. And balamory, if that happens then you'll have to wear pads and a nurse will change you/help change you if need be x

Oh hellz to the naw! No-one is going near my poony! If it wasn't for the fact that i'm attached to it i wouldn't go near one myself lmao. So there's no increased risk? x
