Ladies, I need your help ASAP re Transform
Hi ladies,
As some of you may know I booked my BA with Paul Clarke for 24 March. I booked a further consultation about 3 weeks ago as I wanted to go through things in more depth with Mr Clarke. My consultation is supposed to be today, but I have been having a crisis at work (I'm a solicitor) which means I can't make it. I called my PC to rearrange and was told that Mr Clarke wouldn't be available any other time before my surgery as he only visits the clinic once a month! News to me!my PC said that I don't need to see him again as everything in the nites from my first consultation are fine, but I am no way happy with this! I really don't feel comfortable with having an operation with a surgeon I have met only once and I was totally unaware that surgeons with transform visit clinics so infreqently!
So, I either don't see him until the day of my surgery, or I go somewhere else! I'm really **naughty word** off at this!
Any suggestions? Xxx

it is possible that he only visits the clinic once a month as a surgeon he might have lots more surgery in his schedule as he might not infact prob does other surgery rather than just BA

Transform surgeon DO actually only visit on a monthly basis hun.
I do agree with you that you shouldn't just have the one consultation. Things change as you learn more about the surgery suggested to you and you or your surgeon may want to teak a little something or it might just be as simple as getting the reassurance you need before proceeding with your surgery.
Whati will say hun is that on the day of your surgery you aren't just taken into theatre and operated on straight away. You have time to sit and talk your surgeon, so its like having another consultation before surgery. You'll be examined and if you have concerns you'll have plenty of time to discuss this then.
If this isn't good enough hun and you'd prefer to have a more indepth consultation 'before' your surgery day then I'd suggest you maybe delay the op for a month so you can see your surgeon again.
If you'd rather know you can see a surgeon at anytime, you'll only really get this from the smaller clinics such as MyBreast or Spire hun. All of the larger commercial clinics have their surgeons rotate on a monthly basis, so there's a lot for you to think about lovely. Xx

How annoying and frustrating for you. I have heard the same re surgeons being in the clinics once a moth though.
Is there anything specific that you wanted to ask him? As long as it isn't a case of potentially not wanting the op, I would say you would be okay just spending some time with him before surgery. I didn't have paul Clarke but I have heard such good things about him. I'm sure he'll put your mind at ease on the day.
Everyone is different and need to personally feel happy, however many times that means they need to see their surgeon, but for me, I felt fine after one consultation and everything went well on the day. That's not to say that you should feel the same, I just wanted to put your mind at ease that not everybody sees their surgeon more than once - if that makes sense. Good luck with it all and I hope your work crisis sorts itself out xxx

Thanks for your comments girls!
My PCC said I can now see him in Leeds a couple of weeks before my op which is a relief! However, I really haven't been bowled over by Transform so far....there admin seems a bit rubbish, and I do not particularly like the PCC I was given.
I am however a little concerned about this whole issue with surgeon's visiting once a month. Should I be THAT concerned? I think I'm just worried about post op complications and not being able to see a surgeon straight away. Maybe I'm just thinking too much, but I have wanted this BA for about 10 years and don't want to make a mistake. Transform were always my last choice but having seen a friends results through Mr Clarke (which are fab) prompted me to go ahead with them.
I think I just wanted everything to go perfectly and I was of the assumption that changing an appointment date would be an easy task! xxx

My opinion is that is it the surgeon that makes the boob job, so (obviously within reason) the rest of it all is just fluff. That might be controversial, but I have had a few doubts to say the least about Transform... but I wouldn't have gone with anyone else because my surgeon was frankly incredible,as were the hospital staff on the day xxx

I agree with Lauraloubelle. It's the surgeon that matters most. If you are happy with him great. However if you want more opportunity to contact your surgeon as Cookie suggests then maybe go for a second consultation with one of the smaller clinics.

I agree surgeons are VERY important, but.... With the larger commercial clinics they tend to have a good turn over of surgeons, especially the foreign ones. I've now had three different surgeons now. One to do the original surgery, he'd left within the 3 year period, so I was allocated another (no choice) I hated the surgeon that was allocated to me and I had to fight so hard for them to change to another, they again chose, I had no choice, and again for the scar revision, my surgeon had left within a 3 year period again and I was allocated yet another surgeon.
So yes, your surgeon is very important, but they may not be there if you require revision in the future. Xx

Just to worn you transforms aftercare are pretty shoddy. I did find however that I could see my surgeon at any other location if I was willing to travel. I think they take a day of the week each to rotate there appointments then the rest of the time they are in surgery. X
