Day three - worrying and feeling sick Empty Day three - worrying and feeling sick

Post by Lauraloubell 19th February 2013, 6:19 pm

Hey girls, I be been doing great since Saturday, loads better than I expected. But I've started feeling a bit rubbish. I've a headache and in quite a bit of pain as ive knocked the pain killers on the head because I haven't "used the toilet" since before my BA.

I feel worried about the stitches as they seem so vunerable under the plasters. Plus my breasts are both completely numb from the nipple down. I know it's all normal but I've had this wave of paranoia come over me. I don't feel like I can call the nurse at transform because of all the drama with the bloods etc. the manager told me she was being spoken to about the mix up so I doubt she'll be that helpful to me. I also don't trust her judgement after all that anyway. Boo hoo hoo feeling sorry for myself :(

Is there another nurse you can speak to? I am sure they would understand your concern. x

Ah Hun, I felt at my worse day 3-5. Make sure you drink plenty, that should help with a headache and help you go to thr loo. My boobs are still numb underneath but it's only where the skin and nerves have been cut and they'll heal soon. Hang on in there hun! It will get better, I turned a massive corner about day 9!

Hun all of what your experiencing is completely normal.
Numbness can take months even a year to return! My left boob from the nipple down is still numb!
Your stitches will be just fine , they're pretty secure him and fine just under plasters .

It can take a while for the ga to come out and remeber you've just had major surgery it will take it out of you and the painkillers will take a few days to come out of your system and if your taking anti bs may make you feel a bit rubbish also. Lots of pro biotic yogurt to help. Xx

Thanks guys. I'll hang in there. I'm not used to being ill I'm usually on top of everything. Even with my daughter up was up and about the day after the labour making everyone tea and coffee. My best friend is on her way over fir an hour so that should help. Think I'd feel better if I could go to the loo. Sorry to be negative xxx

Just echoing what the other girls said hun, perfectly normal! I was worst for those days aswell, and had felt fine straight after the op!

It could take a while to get your system back to normal after the anesthetic but drink plenty of water, try and go for short walks to get everything moving!

Don't be a bit sorry, we all have a good moan every now and again, you feel better when you tell someone anyway Day three - worrying and feeling sick 1978086825 xxx

I asked the chemist for laxatives a couple of days ago and he recommended apple and pear juice. Apparently it softens everything and makes you want to go. Obviously you have GA in your system still but it may be worth a try hun x

ohrr hunni all normal i have numb boobies still from nipples down feels weird. What pain relief have you got as its codeine which makes you constipated not paracetamol or diclofenac if u have been given that some dont depending on surgeons choice. Any way keep up paracetamol deffo as this wont effective your bowels, drink lots of water and ask your surgeon about ibuprofen as this wont affect bowel movement either, but u need to ask them first if you havent been given it. I found dat 3-6 i became all anxious and felt poorly think you have to hit the turning point which will hopefully be soon. I had alot of turning points lol panick attacks crying stressed the lot.Chin up hunni xx

Thx hon. It's codydramol and tramadol which I was told not to take paracetamol with. Once I'm sure they're out of my system I'll start on paracetamol for the pain. Without going in to too much detail, the toilet problem isn't helped by being too scared to push!

Thx lovelies xxxx

100% how I felt at day 3, it was my worst and then it all got better. My numbness started getting better 2 days ago, and the toilet thing sorted itself out on day 4, I didn't feel much like it but that gets easier all of a sudden. Don't be afraid to go onto paracetamol, that's all I had and a bit of ibuprofen and it was fine x
