Re: benefits of partial implants????
Having the implant over the muscle simply means as shown in the picture above that the implant will lay under your natural breast tissue. If you have enough breast tissue to cover the implant this would be your best option.
The second picture is fully under the muscle. This placement is very rarely used except for those patients who require reconstruction surgery.
The above image is partially under the muscle. This means hat the top of the implant is covered by muscle and is released at the bottom to free the implant. This placement is best for women with little or no breast tissue as the muscle acts as a cushion to cover the implant. Xx

There is no one placement that's right for 'all' women, so what was right for your friend, doesn't necessarily mean the same placement will be right for you and this is why we seek the advise of a 'plastic surgeon'.
Placement really isn't something you should be deciding for yourself at all. In doing so you could be possibly albeit unknowingly relinquish all responsibility from your surgeon in choosing the placement yourself and should you have any complications post-op connected to the placement and because the placement was 'your choice' you could infact void any aftercare you might have that would been covered had your surgeon chosen the placement.
Your surgeon is an expert in this field, we don't only pay them to do an operation, we pay them for they expert opinion and advice for both our surgery plans and our post-op care instructions - if you aren't willing to listen to a 'plastic surgeons' advice because you feel you know better about what you want for yourself you could have any 'general surgeon' do the work for you
Its fine to challenge opinions that your surgeon might choose for you and question their reasons for them choosing a particular implant, implant size or placement choice but ALWAYS ensure the final decisions are made by your surgeon and agreed upon by yourself.
This way should you have any problem post-op the responsibility for all choices lay with your surgeon hun and WILL be covered by your aftercare.. X
