Starting to get nervous now but still really excited. Crazy that when I wake up they will just be there. Is everyone having someone there with them at the hospital? I am not sure whether to have my friend or my boyfriend. On the one hand he is great and will keep me chilled on the other I feel I may need my girly friend. I have got several sports bras and am going to take a few back sizes so they can put me in whatever is best. I am also planning all I need to pack to take, and all I want sorted for when I come home. My list for bedside must haves include water and snacks and baby wipes and the clothes out ready to wear that are easy to get on. Dry shampoo was my big thought of today as I am thinking washing and drying my long hair may be a mission on the first few days after. Booking myself in the salon a few days after so they can wash and style it for me in case I can't lol!

Littlemiss - only 9 days! Yay you must be super excited!

I hadnt thought much about having someone with me - my husband will have his hands full with my little ones..... Although reading a few posts from the March Buddies it seems like having someone there might be a nice idea. I would def go for a girly friend - love my husband like mad but he will just go 'yeah nice when can I touch them??' where as one of my girlfriend will be too polite to stop me going on stage by stage of what happened and how I feel!

Im all booked in for my wash and blow dry about 6 days after the op.. I will also do a shop just before so there is food in the house and luckily I already have a cleaner so I might just see if she can come round ever few days in the weeks I am home recovering.... my big worry is looking after my children. Its going to be near on impossible not to need to lift them at some point - if it gets too hard I think we are going to have to move back to my parents for a while - my husband can't really take 2 weeks off to look after us all and (to be quite honest) even if he could I am not sure he would cope!

Are you prepared for what its going to feel like? Pain wise I am hoping its like your milk coming in/going when breastfeeding and not worse.. that said i though giving birth would be like a hard gym session...ummm how wrong could I be!

I am sooo excited for all the April Buddies that our month is nearly here..... xxx

Eeeek yes I am very excited!

I don't have any children but I can see how that may be tricky. But there's never an ideal time I suppose. Sounds like your parents could be a great help!
Pain wise I really don't know what to expect. I'm feeling quite reassured as I have been speaking to friends who have also had 'overs' (and much bigger than what I'm having - mine will be tiny 240 - 260ml) and they say its not too bad really. More sore and tender than sharp pain. I think I can deal with that. I plan to sleep through what I can and just keep very still for the first few days.

Hahaha yes I've made it very clear there will be no touching them if he comes along, or even that evening if I see him after.

Providing I have no issues I'll be going home the same evening which is nice! My hospital is 15 mins away from home!

Looks like I am first then. I will report back here as soon as I can after I get home! When is yours?

I'm a day case guard and I'm having allergan implants. My fiance is coming with me, my mum has booked 2 days off work to have my daughters then my fiance has a week off thank god!! I think your first littlemiss and I'm second, it feels so surreal! 520 is quite a big implant guard but if your surgeon suggested them they will fit your frame lovely. I'm undecided between 410 and 460.x x

Post by Ballet babe 24th March 2013, 9:11 pm

Hi April girls! I am a bit after Guard on 19 April, so in 26 days time for me! We have 4 kids, so my OH is taking 2 weeks annual leave to do the domestic stuff, it is just too busy in this madhouse! We also have a cleaner thankfully so that will help and same, I am going to shop n cook n wash n iron everything and get organised before I go in to make it as easy as poss for my husband. I have suffered a lot through breastfeeding lol- mastitis, agonising nipples, tenderness, swelling etc etc etc and so I think I will be OK with some pain and discomfort.
I am still concerned about breast width, my PS said I am about 11.5-12 but together we decided on an implant of 12.4, I am really hoping I havent pushed for an implant that is going to look fake ie too high at the top and obvious in the cleavage area, but at the same time I didnt want a big gap between my boobs, I really want an hour glass shape ie some side boob too. I am just hoping its the right choice, but my PS did say it was given what "look" I discussed with him.
Good tip about the salon, I will make an appt too for the weekend after my op, as my hair is long too and no chance of it drying naturally - its gotta be blow dried n straightened or its a scarey frizzy mess!!!!
Not long now for us all. I really had a moment on Friday there where I thought OMG in 4 wks I will be in the hospital with my big sports bra on, and then of course I started thinking what if I am put to sleep and something goes wrong and then my children have to know I died because of a boob job!!!!!! Nightmare! But trying to not think like that, its just daft and a waste of energy. I think that people risk themselves all the time to make themselves happy, like hill walkers and mountaineers, or sky dives, or aeroplanes or whatever! x

Ahhh that's nice he is going with you Loclo. I don't know whether to take the man or one of my best girlfriends. I'll probably have NO idea what is going on afterwards with all the pain killers anyway lol.
I am having Natrell's too Loclo. I do think they look like they are worth the little extra.

I have to say I'm not worried at the moment. I really feel I am in good hands and people do it every day and we are all going into first class places.

Yes Ballet! My hair is horrendous without a blow dry and GHDs too and I really doubt I will be able to do it at first. Get that hair appointment booked! It will be nice and relaxing too! I am hoping dry shampoo will do me until the salon so I stocked up on that today!

Hi all- I read about bio-oil as well- I think you are meant to put it on before and after....prob worth a try!

Sounds like most of you are having allergens- is anyone else having nagor? Think they are a cheaper option but my surgeon said they are his implant of choice- I do trust him but every time I read something I question my decision on pretty much everything. I think 520 is quite big loclo, I did the rice test and they look good under my clothes. I think the main reason is that my boobs were an E cup when I was breast feeding and I am not having a lift so I need them bigger to get the fullness I need to fill the skin. I am worried about them making me look fat though. I have quite an hourglass figure, I weigh 10.5 stone at the moment and am 5f5 - I'm def no skinny mini ( sadly ) and I've read that too big implants make you look like a heffer....I have found all my like photos though so see what mr pereira says at my next consultation.

On a completely different note I've just come home from the gym and saw Ola and James Jordan in there from strickly come dancing! Made my day (it's a sad life I lead!)

Night all - hopefully no boobie nightmares for me tonight! Xx

Like guard said you use bio oil before after your ba you should only massage your April Buddies - Page 5 156694 when your surgeon gives you the go ahead. Loads of ladies have had nagor guard, maybe type it in the search bar at the top-you may find a few posts on them.
Gosh 9 days for me now, I must say Im beginning to feel nervous although it still feels very surreal. It probably wont start feeling nervous until im walking down to theatre or something! x

Hi I am having Nagor Impleos (made here in Scotland!). My PS uses them and said it would cost more to order a different brand, not sure whether it is him or Nuffield Glasgow or both that have the relationship with Nagor. When I went to see someone at Spire, he offered me Allergans.
Guard - were u offered an uplift? Did the PS just say larger implants to fill the skin? I was really upset at first when the 2 PSs I saw suggested it, but I have been an E/F breast feeding and am now a crappy A/B and would fail the pencil test dismally!!!! I am now trying not to think about the scarring and accept it, just having to trust the PS to do a good job!
9 days Loclo!!!!! eek! Exciting! x

Hi guard,

I'm having Nagor implants. My PS said there aren't any implants that are considered the 'best' as such, it is the surgeon's personal choice more so. He also said them being slightly cheaper doesn't effect the quality. Bit of celeb spotting for you this morning! I bet they were super toned!

Hi Ballet-babe/Melstar/Loclo - my PS said the same about the Nagor - he said he uses them because he finds them to be the best. I am glad to hear you are also trusting them as implants as well!

Ballet-babe - i was sure I would need an uplift but thought I wouldn't say anything and go with the advice of the surgeon. Basically both I went to see said I was on the cusp (stage 1) - if i was looking for perfect nipple placement they recommended one but just an implant should fill the skin (if that makes sense). I just want my boobs to look like they use to when i didnt appreciate them! My boobs look saggy because they are so flat at the top, but I have breast tissue at the bottom and they are not low down on my torso if you know what I mean? When I need to have my next surgery (10 years or so hopefully) i will need a lift then. I have seen LOADS of pictures on the net where you barely notice the scars and the uplift looks fabulous so I wouldn't be worried if I did need to have one x

And Ola Jordon looks AMAZING - it was really quite embarrassing as I saw one of those weight/height/bmi/body fat machines in the changing room and i thought i would have a go, but I'd already put all my clothes on and was ready to go home... so I hoovered around until no one was there, stripped to my underwear (every little helps!) and hopped on... only to have Ola come to her locker right next to me and strip of as well - what a comparison! I must loose weight.... i must loose weight.....

Can someone help me out here.... April Buddies - Page 5 2661777810 Although I am a petite woman I am really worried my implants are going to end up too small. I am a 32A... my doc is saying at the moment he wants to put in 240ml Natrelle's. He said he could do 260mls but that might look a bit big. It seems to me I'll only get 1 cup size from my 240's. I definitely want a decent C so I am thinking of asking for the 260's after all. GOD! I think its getting close so I am freaking about making the right size choice! lol x

Typical Ola saunters on in looking all toned! I bet she still looks good after a work out! I'm a big, sweaty mess with a beetroot face! and that's if I can motivate myself to go and work out!

Littlemiss, i'm having 240cc and was worried the same as you. Was in a similar situation and the PS said he wouldn't be able to actually fit in any bigger than 270cc, as I have a narrow breast base - he said some surgeon's would offer bigger, but it would look very 'fake' and round. When are you booked for? I'm in a month so when I have mine I can keep you posted if you like. Most girls on here seem to have gone for bigger implants, but the few who have gone smaller that i've spoke to have got a great result and been a D, but as we are all different to begin with etc etc! I am planning to take pics pre and post :)

THANK YOU MEL April Buddies - Page 5 3965254117 !!!
That's what my PS says. A 260cc is really my biggest option without looking weird. But I think I should perhaps stick with the 240's. Haha that's just it - no promise of exactly what size I will end up being as it can vary so much! I also think being so small a C would actually look bigger on my frame.
Mine is a week tomorrow!!!! I think its just me having a last min panic! I will let you know how mine turn out and of course put up some pre and post op phots. xx

I was exactly the same, kept going backwards and forwards and stressing! Initially I was excited about picking a size, but it turned into the biggest stress! Especially when girls who had much bigger implants thought they looked small! Sure if you are are petite framed that will look in proportion for you. Gotta trust the PS, they're the experts and are there to recommend etc. Would be worse if he said you could have any size then looked ridiculous! The pics I have seen with 240cc look great. What I have agreed with him is that he can make the ultimate decision and I will go what he feels looks better. I'd rather lose a bit of volume to get a better shape too. My friend was totally flat chested with no tissue at all, she had 270cc and is a 30D. Good luck! such an exciting time!

Hi little miss try next online for 32c sports bras they usu have a good stock? I think sizes are all relative to our frame and what you wear that day will change how big they look. My ps said my 420 would be easily hidden if I wanted to look smart n discrete for work. X

I agree Ballet, It's impossible to tell sizes by looking at person. My sister is a 32E and you would never think it, she obviously took my booby share!

Littlemiss, she gets them online as harder to find off the shelf. She's a tiny!

Loclo, maybe this forum has helped. Everyone is so supportive and knowledgable. It's good to be in touch with people who are planning or have gone through it to get more prepared. The unknown is always more scary!
