Do i need to take the painkillers
Morning ladies,
First night at home, propped up with every cushion and pillow, including the god send v pillow. Slept okish, numb bum and achy back, but once i was up, the pain is like a gym work out.
Held onto the boobs as i got out of bed...it helps me deal with the morning boob.
Need a bit of advice..got up this morning walking around, giving the kids instructions, bless them. I feel fine, do i need to take painkillers if my body isnt asking for them?
I have no pain in the boobs just a milk coming in feeling...(mothers will know what i mean)
I have a slight sore throat??? But feel good.x

Re: Do i need to take the painkillers
Not at all. The pain killer are given as required lovely, they're not necessary if you don't feel you need them.
You often feel so much better too after stopping them. But if you find you do need them at night or first thing, do take them lovely. Day three also is generally when the swelling kicks in so although you may not feel you need them now, do keep them to hand lovely just in case you do.
Congratulations

Hey hun,
You sound exactly the same as I was a day or so after the op. I kept taking paracetamol as my anti inflammatories had pain relief in them aswell. I wasn't in pain as such other than the odd twinge but more discomfort.
It's personal preference, I'm not a week post op & am still taking them now & mainly because of my back ache to get to sleep.
I've tried sleeping down the bed a little but then need to wake my partner up to push me up so I can get out, very annoying and he's shattered bless him!
How have you been finding it doing everyday tasks ie masking a cuppa, dinner, washing & dressing yourself? I didn't realise how much i would need my partner for and we both agreed we had unprepared ourself for how incapacitated I was for the first few days. It's silly really as looking back now of course you can't get around and need loads of help as you use your chest muscles for absolutely everything, doh!! X x

Sore throat is from the tube you would have had down there when you was under GA I had it for the first week, if you get done throat sweets you'll be fine or just plenty of fluids helped mine xx

Re: Do i need to take the painkillers
Thanks ladies for the advice, i'll take the painkillers if i need them, will listen to the body.
Had my op on Monday, so don't know if its technically day 2 today or day 3.. but yesterday at the hospital i got dressed myself, brushed my teeth etc.
This morning i'm feeling good, thinking of jumping into shower. I have washed some dishes today. Not lifting anything heavy or stretching up high. Will take it easy i promise. X

Katielou2111, you had the unders, that recovery takes a bit longer. The implant size, placement etc all contribute to recovery.
Take it easy hun. X

Good to hear.
Often when you feel really good after surgery it can be worse than having pain, because you feel you can do more. But although there's no pain, the body is still healing just the same so its easier when you have no pain to put your healing back or do damage, so do think on that lovely and take it easy as you said. Xx
Re: Do i need to take the painkillers
Bless you Katie. I have only really been takin them as an when really. I feel like I don't wanna mask the pain because I might start doing to much... Xx

Re: Do i need to take the painkillers
I stopped taking mine on day 3 as I felt like a zombie. Definitely wouldn't take them if your feeling ok, maybe just take a few paracetamol if needed. Glad your feeling well! :) xx

Re: Do i need to take the painkillers
Yeah it just shows how different we all are. There is no way I could lean over the bath and wash my hair and we tried getting my t-shirt off earlier that I Managed to get over my head this morning, big fat fail, felt like my chest was going to explode so ill be keeping that on tonight & if we can't get it off tomorrow it'll see some scissor action.....not impressed as first time I've with it lol!!!
