My consultation with Paul Clarke - I'VE BOOKED!!!!
Hi,
Well.....I finally had my consultation with Mr Clarke. Needless to say, I was impressed and I have booked him for 24 March!!!!!! Can't believe it really, panic has already started setting in especially about the GA. I've been wanting this done since my late teens and I'm 29 now so its long overdue!
I wasn't really all that impressed with Transform. My appointment was at 2.30pm and I was in there for over three hours due to waiting and the fact that the lady I initially spoke to at the call centre had booked me to see only the PC and not the PC and Mr Clarke on the same day like she said she would! Another girl in the waiting room who was there for her post op check said that it always happens and although she is less than impressed with Transform, they are worth the hassle to have Mr Clarke because he's THAT good!
A friend of mine had her done by him recently and they look amazing which has just spurred me on to going to finally get it done.
I was hoping for 410/460, so I was a little disappointed when Mr Clarke looked at me and said that given my size he would suggest 310cc to 365cc :-/ I don't think I'm that petite! We compromised and he said he would try the 410cc but he thinks there is only a 50% chance they will fit, especially as I will need implants that are 100% full and high profile. I trust his judgement though, but I will be fighting for my 410cc's! Lol!

It's really not worth fighting your surgeon for the biggest you can get hun when they're trying to tell you its not in your best interest to do that?
If you push hard and your surgeon agreed (which really wouldn't be good advertising for a surgeon of he did that) he would in fact be putting you at a much higher risk of developing complications hun.
Listen to your surgeon lovely and do what's what's best for your body. Biggest is NOT always best - the larger the implant the higher the risk, so maybe give a little thought to that lovely.
Really pleased your happy with your surgeon and decided to book - congratulations! don't forget to add your details to the Calendar Entries section (not the actual calendar) and also get yourself a ticker!!!! Woohooooo so exciting! Oh, and maybe stop by the march buddies thread babe and share your excitement with those going through the same at the same time as yourself. Xx

Thanks Cookie,
I see what you're saying! However he did say that although he would try, that if they didn't sit in the pocket comfortably he would be using the 365. Even the PC said he wouldn't give me the 410 unless everything was ok with them, she said I should go 365.
I think it's because I know so many women that have had BA's that are my size or smaller that have had 410's and bigger, so I was a bit disappointed with his suggestion (not his fault obviously, just down to my size!).
I have lost like over a stone in the past year so I dont think its registered how small I've actually got in comparison to how I used to be! And I know I also need to be wary that he is going over the muscle rather than under which may not be so good with a bigger implant on me!
I'm going back to see him armed with a list of questions anyway, so I'll get more info then!

Try not to compare your own body to anyone else's babe. Sure, you may have the same stats but there are so many factors to your body that will be completely different to others so just focus on you hun and trust your surgeon... They know what's best to help you achieve what you want sweetheart xx

Re: My consultation with Paul Clarke - I'VE BOOKED!!!!
I def agree with Cookie I really wanted 400cc but as soon as he surgeon seen me with no bra on he said he wouldnt get them in and also there was a much bigger risk of rippling and complications so after he done some measurements he said that the biggest he would go to and prob get in was 365cc, he was spot on and struggled to get even them in
I was a size 8 on top and was a 32a and had 365cc unders and im now in a 32dd or 32e sports bra but they dont look that size but def a good size on my body, but like you know we are all diff and even if we looked identical standing beside each other and had the same implants we could end up with a very diff size
you dont want to go the biggest and risk complication
March will be here in no time xx

Re: My consultation with Paul Clarke - I'VE BOOKED!!!!
Thanks ladies!
I feel a bit nervous about it already!
Tinkerbell - I'm a size 8 on top too. Measuring a 32b at the moment. I noticed that you had unders though, I do wonder whether that placement would be better for me rather than overs but Mr Clarke seems to prefer overs!
Would it be cheeky to ask for a second opinion from another Transform surgeon just to see what they say?

Don't feel cheeky. Your more than entitled to see another surgeon you need to be happy with your choice and good to compare notes. You can see another surgeon through a different company you can use this in haggling the price down. I have the CMH implants too very pleased with them for me xx

Cookie has said everything I was going to. Don't push a surgeon into a certain implant size, he will do what's best for you and your body. If you do push and push for the biggest and have complications, you would be gutted. I've heard lots of good things about Mr Clarke so you're in good hands. Congrats on booking :)

Re: My consultation with Paul Clarke - I'VE BOOKED!!!!
hi your measuring bigger than i was to begin with i literally had nothing but nipples so had no breast tissue to begin with so my surgeon said it was best for me to have unders so that the muscle helped make my boobs look more natural
def not cheeky to see anther surgeon at all but i would def trust your surgeon in not going too big xx

Re: My consultation with Paul Clarke - I'VE BOOKED!!!!
Thanks for the words of support ladies!
I will just go for another consultation, just for curiosity, but I know Mr Clarke is the surgeon for me! I'm just a little worried about placement now and I want to make sure overs are definitely going to be right for me! I know Mr Clarke's preference is overs, but I'm just a little worried that:
1. They will sag quicker than unders.
2. My breast tissue won't fully hide the implant on the upper pole of my breast.....and...
3. The increased risk of CC/rippling.
Obviously I'm going to discuss all this in depth with him, just interested in everyone's opinions!
Oh, and Sianyoungx......I remember on my previous post you saying you were having Mr Clarke. He is lovely, really put me at ease and I like the fact that he has been at Transform for 20 years too! When is your op date? Mine is 24 March.....only 8 weeks to go!

Congrats on booking hun I'm march 21st! March buddies :) I agree with what the others have said, there's a reason he's chosen that size 'for you' and you don't want to risk complications for 50cc xx
