Re: Telling work
Didn't think there would be any other nurses on here! Don't know why! I've chosen to go ahead with this so I think more appropriate for me to take annual leave, as it's cosmetic, not essential as such. I get 7 weeks a year, so still have lots left. I think if I take 2 weeks I can request days before and after to bump it up to three weeks. Not long for you now :) I have another consultation with Simon on the 31st, yay.

Suzifaye: I'm a nurse too. keep thinking what I should do post op if I go ahead. I have told a couple of people at work and they have said I should just get medical certificate for a couple of weeks and not take annual leave. But like you it is a nightmare with sickness and getting cover. It puts pressure and stress and everyone else and then probably causes people to be off sick! So i'm thinking probably booking 2 weeks annual leave?! I could prob avoid doing the heavy stuff as most people are self caring. If I had any complication etc or people guessed it wouldn't look good. Don't think saying i'm wearing an amazing bra would cut it!!!! haha.
Hmmmmm!?
Ahh sickness in the NHS Still if you are anything like me and wear a padded bra all the time, unless you are going huge, once you've had them done surely the sports bra squishes them down so they shouldn't look that different?! Plus nurses uniforms aren't exactly 'form fitting'
Just a thought though, what do you think happens in an arrest? I can't stand there an shout 'sorry can't do chest compressions, just had my boobs done'!!! Legal wise does a sick certificate that says you can only do light duties exempt you from CPR?

Re: Telling work
There's usually enough of us around to not have to say out loud "oh I'm not doing compressions!" I'd either just take over another role either drugs or ventilation or feign the old back injury line!

Can't comment on the nurse dresses but the tunic tops do cover up even big boobs.

Re: Telling work
I've told a couple of girls at work and my boss (becasue we're quite close) but mainly because I was so excited I had to tell someone!!
I'm not planning on telling anyone else but if anyone were to ask, I would tell them the truth, I'm just not going around broadcasting it to everyone. I'm not ashamed of having had a ba, its my body and my decision and I'm very proud of my nw additions. I think a few people have noticed at work because I've seen a few glances here and there but I had my ba while I was off an maternity leave to save me having to take any annual leave or sick leave so I think people would just assume they are post pregnancy boobs and not think anything of it xx
