Best place get measured??
I'm in midlands so nearest places are merry hill and Birmingham city. Where are the best places to get measured I'm kind of worried about the looks ill get when they know I've had ba as some of the women in these shops are very snooty. I tried on a few bras today in next (waste of time) and Sainsbury's but I don't know what's right and wrong I couldn't get into d cups in next and Sainsbury's only go up to a d in 32 band. Is it going to be hard finding dd in a 32 band?? Xx

Bravissimo 100% they don't measure they fit you. And into the correct bras so you get to try on a selection and be fitted individually into each different brands and styles.
They really take their time with you and the girl I had do my 2nd fitting was lovely. And she said they get quite a few ba ladies. And are not snooty what so ever. I find the main stream m and s steer clear and la sense and Ann summers and debs hams are medioka to me they're still trained in using a measuring tape and can get it so wrong. Bravissimo really are a cut above the rest and at least you know you're getting a bra that fits propley to YOU x

I'm with mrsball hun, Bravisssimo or if you know of another lingerie specialist shop, then they'd be just as good (not a lingerie dept in a dept store)
You can call ahead and make an appointment for a fitting, the women are used to every size and shape boobs imaginable included augmented boobsville and won't even blink an eye hun. You're not obligated to buy their bras either although when you put them on and they feel so gorgeous you don't want to take them off!! Lol so take a deep purse lol. Xx

Re: Best place get measured??
My whole take on the bra thing is that if it fits, you know lol
Before my BA and a good ten years ago, I did a charity event. I modelled some bras for Rigby and Peller. Myself and my friend had to go to their shop to be measured. The ladies, just like at bravissimo don't use a tape measure they just look at you. She stated that was a 32 C and that my firned (quite big busted but not massive) was a 32F
Now in Rigby and Peller bras, we both fitted wonderfully and looks lovely (their bra's are amazing) but we were both a bit miffed at how my friend was a 32F.. I was happy with my C haha! so we went to M&S after and got measured again.
I arrived at my usual 34B and my friend was measured at 34D
We again tried on bras in M&S and most of them fitted with the sizing we were given.
We tried on teh sizes that Rigby and Peller had given us and it was laughable. Not so much for me, but for my friend. She could just about do the band up and her boobs didn't anywhere near fill the cup!
So depending on where you are and what style of bra, really depends on the outcome of your size.
I will get measured at bravissimo when my time come as they always seem to come up with larger cup sizes so would be lush to hear that I'm a 30E haha, but I know for sure I cannot afford to buy more than one of their bras!
When i go to M&S or wherever, I will be taking a variety of sizes into the changing room and trying them all on... it will clearly take some time and I will obviously be in the changing room all day... but it will be fun :0)
xx

Re: Best place get measured??
Ill try the bravissimo then, can't believe all these yrs I was wearing too big a band the 34's I try now seem huge cause I've had right band size on since op no wonder they used to ride up over my nipples lol. Is it usual for shops to stop at d on the 32 bands? 34 goes up higher but I've noticed 32 is quite limited in larger sizes. Xx

In a lot of shops, like Asda, Primark, New Look, Peacocks etc, the 32's will usually stop at a C/D yes x

Re: Best place get measured??
All I'd say is that yes the bras are on the expensive side but sometimes if younknownthe size in a particular brand and style you may be able to find it cheaper on line but for me I absoulty LOVE the fit and shape the freya deco plunge bras give me and they fit to perfection and really look amazing underclothes and give me an amazing shape, at £30 a bra it's not cheap but I only need one in beige and black and thebret of the time I wear my trusty Shock absorbers. And with a 28 back and GG cup it's not easy to find many bras In my size!! X

Re: Best place get measured??
If you get fitted in certain brands ie Freya, then shopping on the cheap becomes far easier. You can search the particular style name and see where they're on offer, or check ebay for ones selling brand new with tags. Supermarket bras- you get what you pay for. I'd much rather get a Freya Deco bra for £20 on ebay that's going to provide the right support and last alot longer (hand washed, obviously) than spend £12 on a pretty Asda number that's not as supportive and doesn't have fully adjusting straps.
I agree with the ladies, I'd avoid Debenhams like the plague. My local store in southport, the girl is unaware of half the stock they sell. And she fitted my Ma into a 34 f when she's more like a 32g/gg (to accommodate for her bigger boob especially)!!!xx

Re: Best place get measured??
Best place to get fitted is bravissimo. I'm going on a bra fitting course in a few months and they do not use tape measures, it's not allowed. So Bravissimo are the best ones around.
Re: Best place get measured??
Gotta agree with everyone else and say bravissimo. I took my friend there a few months ago as she was wearing a 36dd but her boobs are massive so these no way she's a dd plus she's got a small back and only wears a size 12. The lady fitted her in to a 32G to say my friend was surprised was an understatement!!!
