Most reliable place to get measured?
What the subject says really lol, where did everyone get measured for the most accurate result?
I've read that if you get measured in some places and say, your band size should be 28, they will just tell you it's 32 as it's the smallest they stock.
Just wondering where to get measured once I'm all settled fully.

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
Oh on one I got NO BRA on one
I think Nads put a thread up with links to M&S for measurements. Figleaves have one too as a general rule you measure your ribcage i.e. mine is 30 which = 34 band and I measure 37 at widest part of bust = D cup but I can fit in some 34C. It is a minefield.
Some girls say Bravissimo is good, John Lewis and Debenhams I would try a few. Good Luck

Yeah you'll have more swelling to go down stef, takes at least 6 weeks then most of the swelling will go..
Talking of measuring, Bravissimo is the best place by far.

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
La Senza usually give you the biggest measurements, the online ones are useless, M&S have also had some upset with their measurements for post BA girls, Bravissimo are supposed to be good for D and above, but again this is down to the individual who does the "fitting" for you, some are trained well and others will look and say "oh you look a 34D to me" and not even pull out a tape! xx

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
Glad you started this thread hun as i need to get measured professionally! I'm thinking of going to Marks/La Senza and John Lewis i think xxxstefjl wrote:What the subject says really lol, where did everyone get measured for the most accurate result?

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
I got measured at Marks & Spencer as a 34C, which I think is about right, I don't look any bigger than a C. I tried on bras in Debenhams & La Senza though, and needed a 34D, so I think they must come up bigger.

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
I think you have to get measured seperatly for each shop! I measure different i different stores...
M&S= 32E
John Lewis= 32DD
La Senza= 32F
I've not even gone into Debenhams yet lol

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
Just ensure you go into a store that sells a range of back sizes. La Senza only stock up to 32 back, which is fine if you're a 32 back. The put me in a 32E and it was completely wrong.
I think M&S are the same with back sizes.
I'd recommend Bravissimo (they are FAB! I'd work there if I could) and Debenhams.

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
I think I have exhausted every bra shop in town now.
My research as follows shows (!):
Bravissimo and Debenams are ace - professional, super helpful and made the process really easy.
La senza were good but their bras arent the right shape for me the bigger sizes have massive underwires that are uncomfy (just my wierd shape i think)
M&S are rubbish if you have a small back size. (I'm 30dd/e)
I also found small independant lingerie shops really good as they really take their time with you. (go on a quiet morning)
Happy bra hunting girls!

( long bra chat with girl - she was lovely)
Have you been measured yet? I remember seeing somewhere that you were going to.

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
No not yet but so many of you ladies say how great Bravissimo is so i'm going to track down one near me to see what they say x
Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
They were great - so good I know were most of my wages is going over the next couple of months!
Dont be surprised if your back size is much smaller than you expect either its a really common thing to get wrong apparently but crucial to the fit. (oh no, geek alert!)

I went to the Oxford St one to get a bikini and it was mental in there, so it may be best to book an appointment.
It's so pretty though, and the girls are lovely.
Re: Most reliable place to get measured?

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
I've been to M&S and Debenhams and BHS and a local specialist shop....but passed them all by....
I just can't sum up the courage to go in and ask to be measured...
I mean, do you have to strip off? Do they measure you over your current bra? I've NEVER been measured in my life, so I don't know.
I just grab several bras off the shelf in Primark Tescos or Asda (classy I know!) and try them all on til one fits!
I'd LOVE a bra from Bravissimo or La Senza but just can't go in to get measured...
OOh! ooh! ..while I remember...Tesco have got a DIVINE bra in at the mo called Diamond Collection, and its £14. It is be-aut-i-ful! Gonna have one of them...!! Pale pink...

Re: Most reliable place to get measured?
I was so nervous too! and I felt so daft for being nervous too!
So I decided to pre-empt any embarrassment and just be honest and tell the girls I'd had my boobs done and pleaded for mercy! They measure over your bra and are very descreet and aware how personal the whole experience is although to be fair by the nature of their job they do have to gawk at your boobs a bit.
Go for it !
