best place to get measured?
Hi can anyone recommend where to go for to get measured? and what it entails!
Sounds a silly question but have never been measured for a bra before, I have never had much/anything to put in one so always just picked one that felt comfy usually b or c cup and stufffed my chicken fillets in! same with bikinis for holidays, so all this is new to me.
I did have a fantastic pair ( well I thought so)when breast feeding they looked fab but painful to touch and disappeared when I stopped the feeding leaving me with just loose skin.
My new boobs are still very tender to touch, saw ps yesterday 6 week check, he is pleased so far and that I can wear bra's now, don't think I will just yet as feel more comfy sticking to sports bra for now, but would like to see what size I am.
any advice is much appreciated x

Re: best place to get measured?
You don't get 'measured' anymore lovely, you get fitted.
You'll be taken to the dressing room and told to take your top clothes off leaving the bra you have on, on.
The fitter will check the band of your bra as well as the cups to see how we'll the one you have on fits you. They'll get get a few different bras of a few sizes for you to try on. As you try each one on the fitter will again check the band and the cups to make sure they're fitting you correctly. This goes on till you have a bras that properly fits. If you get a good fitter they can do it in one guess!
The best places to have your first fitting is in a bra specialist shop such as Bravissimo, or any other lingerie specialist. If you don't have one near you then Debenhams aren't bad, or John Lewis, the larger stores with a lingerie department.
Happy bra shopping! xx

Re: best place to get measured?
Echo what cookie said. Braviasimo were fantastic for me .. I always thought I had a small back but was actually always wearing a 32aaa / AA when I was measured in la sensation they said a 30 bordering on 28 back, not that they're specialists but wanted a rough idea, however when I went to bravissimo their service was second to none. Very professional and take their time making sure the bra you are wearing is correct. I was in fact a 28 back and the diffrence from the bra I has on which was very ill fitted really made such a diffrence wearing the correct bra and was so comfatable in the one they fitted me in. Obviously not every bra manufactur is the same and they may differ but at least when you have a professional fitting you can try on as many bras and making sure they will all fit.

Re: best place to get measured?
You can call Bravissimo and arrange an appointment for your fitting lovely... That way you'll have a time and day that's convenient to you and no waiting if there's a shop full of women either. Xx
Re: best place to get measured?
I,m only just 6 weeks post op, so still settling etc. My ps was pleased with my results so far. I was concernd as my right boob nipple area still numb but underneath still very tender, he recons that its just nerves healing and senstaions coming back.My scars are really faint and hardly noticable but to keep up the massaging as they feel lumpy underneath.mrsball wrote:Great, how far post op are you Hun? Can wait for a few months further down the line and hopefully won't have as many worries... fingers x X

Re: best place to get measured?
I went to marks and Spencer's to check I was in the right size sports bra and the lady's were lovely in there, surgeon measured me and the sizes matched but I think I'd get checked often and in different places so you get the right bra size! X
