Capsular contracture Freakout!
Hi guys, long time no speak!
I'm just over a year post op and when I've looked in the mirror just now it looks as though my leftie has loads of upper pole fullness in comparison to my right, kind of like it dod in the early stages of settling and I'm not sure if it has always been like this after my op (I had a straight forward BA but was/am tuberous).
Could this be because I'm due on maybe? They might be swollen but they don't feel sore or anything. I'm so paranoid about CC I feel really stressed :( I know it happens so gradually maybe that's why I haven't noticed it changing.
Thank you ladies hope you are all well xx

Hi Pussycat
If you're unsure if your boobs have always looked this way I'd suggest keeping an eye on them for a while. There's no panic, at worse if it were CC its not life threatening so take your time to monitor how they look hun.
If you feel the breast is rising, feeling firmer, looking distorted or painful, then its best you seek your surgeons advice babe.
If you're overly worried, then make an appointment to see your surgeon for after Christmas sweetness. Being only a year post-op I'm presuming your are vCard would still cover CC so don't panic lovely... It'll all be OK xx

I agree with Cookie, keep an eye on them and if you feel they have changed make an appointment with your surgeon, your aftercare will still cover you.
Re: Capsular contracture Freakout!
can CC happen at any time? I was under the assumption that a year post op you would be out of the woods so to speak?

Re: Capsular contracture Freakout!
CC is a progressive thing, it can happen at any time. It's roughly where the body forms a layer around the implant, this happens to all implants. This layer of tissue, much like scar tissue can thicken over time, depending on how your body reacts to the implant. For someone with CC this scar liek tissue thickens and becomes firm, the worse grade CC it gets to the firmer the tissue becomes. It can distort the breast tissue and become painful.
