Disappointment please help Empty Disappointment please help

Post by Jeniic 4th December 2012, 6:04 pm

Hi all,
Im quite new to this site signed up a awhile ago and must admit this is the first time ive been back on it.

Anyway starting to feel really depressed with myself yet again, not feeling like a women not having any confidence its going to end my relationship with my boyfriend soon unless i let it all out so i hope you dont mind me ranting.

Heres my story

I tried several times to get a BA, my GP referred me to the consultant,
(gp and myself wrote a letter, no photos taken) when i went the hospital
they went through the procedures, and had a few measurements done they
then told me i would here back from them.
Within about a month i had a
letter to say the PCT had declined me, baring in mind i was 28 when all
this was going on i have not developed at all and dont even have
periods therefore you can imagine how i feel. Anyway i did appeal
against it to get rejected again.

Its so frustrating the fact that
i cant have children and now i barely feel like a female really
distresses me, but i dont open up to anyone, everyone knows i want a BA
but just dont understand how much.

I have now moved and dont know how i would stand if i tried to get another referral from my new GP(its a male GP and i dont feel comfortable talking about this).

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

xx

If you've been declined then the only option really is to save up or maybe apply for a loan/finance. It took me 18 months to save by putting bits away each week and a lot of the time decided between a nice new top or dress that I probably didn't need or putting money away for my BA. I was really down about how I looked after having 2 babies. You will get there :) x

Sorry to hear you can't have children, it doesn't make you any less of a woman Hug
Have you looked into clinics that provide finance options for BA? Maybe book a consultation with a few and see if thy cant help. Other options are bank loans or maybe a loan from a family member xx

Hi Mais

Thank you means a lot.

I havent got a very good credit history so very much doubt anyone would give me anything, but its definately something i will be looking into.

Have you any idea what sort of companies would do loans for BA?

Transform, mya, the hospital group, surgicare. There are probably more. Just looked and BMI do a credit card that's interest free for 6 months. Maybe have a look at them. Then if not I'm sure people have got personal loans from the bank. And if all else fails lots of eBay selling and saving will get you there xx

I agree I think the only way nownid to save for it Hun. Putting away a bit each month and even if you have half of it to put a substantial amount down as a deposit so don't have too much to borrow or pay back.

Sorry you've had a hard time, but it will make your boobs so worth it x

Hi hun, welcome to the forum. Unfortunatley funding for any medical thing on the NHS comes from the PCT but each PCT has funding allocated for certain things, it is a bit of a postcode lottery and it's very difficult to get funding for a BA on the NHS however I am really glad to see they do stilll help some people. You can try again, but try not to build your hopes up. I would also start to save just in case. I also had a bad credit rating and can't get a loan etc even though my credit was ruined over 6 years ago, it is impossible. You can however build your credit rating and save. Maybe try a credit union, these will let you save with them, (the interest isn't great) but after say 6 months of saving with them you are able to apply for a loan. As you have saved with them you will have proved that you are sensible with money and you save. However the first loan may be for a few hundred pounds, but once you have paid that back you can apply for a higher amount. I know it's not a very fast way of getting money, but you will probably have been able to saved quite a bit and you'd be able to borrow the rest.

Can't really add anything other than what the girls have suggested lovely other than to look for clinics that offer savings accounts if you'd prefer. You can then give the clinic what you can every month /week and keep going until you have enough for your op.

The fact that you're actually saving with a clinic might be seen as a positive in the right directed tigon for you babe and give you the encouragement to keep going knowing the money is sat directly waiting for your surgery.

Good luck sweetie. Xx

Hey hunni,

There was another girl on here (was her name mistyme?) who had several tries on the NHS (if I remember) and then she got it in the end? Can anyone help me on this maybe I'm wrong....
I agree with the girls hunni, you can do it, just save a bit at a time. And it will happen for you!!

my sister in law had a breast reduction on the nhs and got had to keep applying before they finally accepted her for surgery. i'd try again, especially as you've moved, but also start saving as well. As the other girls have suggested, some private companies have savings schemes and i've also heard that others are more willing to give you finance if you can put down a bigger deposit - that might be an option for you to get them sooner as you wouldn't have to save as long. And if the NHS route does work out think of the extra money you have to treat yourself to new bras! I hope it works out for you hun Hug
