How long until you came round.....
Just wondering how long it took everyone to come round?
Surgeon seems to think BF should just go off for a walk while I have the surgery however the receptionist at the clinic and the hospital have both said roughly it could be anything from... 4pm - 8pm
My surgery is at 8:30am (being admitted at 7:30am)
He really wants to be there when I come round but we live an hour away from the hospital

I went down about 8:00 i think and was back in my room by about 9:45 wide awake. I was ready to go home at 2pm but had to wait to see my surgeon. They bring you round as soon as the op is over.

Re: How long until you came round.....
You could be back in your room from just after an hour as queenly said hun.
I was the same as queenly when I had my first BA, about an hour and fifteen minutes. My hubby hadn't even finished reading his paper haha.
The both times I've been down my hubby was able to stay in my room and wait. My second surgery I was gone almost 4 hours and he still stayed bless him, so if your boyfriend wanted to come with you that 'should' be fine.
I was with Transform though, other hospitals may have different policies. Xx

Re: How long until you came round.....
Thanks everyone... I'm unsure if mine may be longer as I am getting mine cheaper due to it being part of a 'masterclass'?
(I've got to stand infringing of 10 surgeons from across the world while he draws on me tomorrow then he will explain the procedure a bit more in depth with them tomorrow as he's doing it )
I've been assured he will be the only one touching me throughout tho... Otherwise I'd hope they'd be paying me for that sort of benefit
(I'm guessing they can't leave my wounds open for too long tho???)
I'm gonna go with 2 hours max I reckon?
@QueenyK How quick was ur recovery Hun... I'm having Unders just curious to know xx

I can't imagine it would take that long so don't worry yourself. And I must say its a good relief only your surgeon will be the one touching you LOL.
I was back in my room fairly soon after (not sure on an exact time) but I wasn't up for a conversation so your bf may want to bring a newspaper if you're anything like me!

Re: How long until you came round.....
wow never heard of that masterclass thing.
My recovery is going really well babe. I know everyone is different but It's been nowhere near as painful as I thought it would be. The first night was the worst I suppose. I felt like someone was sitting on my chest and found it difficult to breathe at times but by the morning that feeling had gone. I wouldnt really say I've been in any major pain either, it's been more of an achey feeling than pain and a lot of discomfort. I felt like I'd been kicked in the ribs a few times! lol Even now at 1 week I feel like I could do most things (not that I am, I'm still taking it very easy) but I'm not in any pain at all just a bit stiff sometimes and my incisions are sore and itchy. I think maybe its becsue I've been religiously taking my pain meds 3 times a day and have sat on my bum for most of the week. I'm lucky to have a really supportive boyfriend and he's spent his week off looking after me and our daughter so I can rest.
Hope you're recovery is like mine becasue it really hasnt been that bad. Not long now babe! xxx
