Will implants look too big or 'round' on top?!
Hi ladies, hoping for some advice after first consultation. I'm 5ft10ish, slim and usually size 8 on top, 10 on bottom. PS took bwd measurement and has recommended round high profile implants with diameter of 12.5/13cm - this means the implants would be 385cc or 450cc and these numbers have freaked my out slightly! I am worried about too much of a rounded look at the top, although they will be partially under the muscle, so perhaps that will create a more natural slope than overs? I've always been small, 34a or 32b at best and would like to be a full C , no more than a D. Should I consider anatomical or might I be disappointed?

Re: Will implants look too big or 'round' on top?!
hey hun, im sure you will be fine i had 390 overs im 5ft 8stone and very petite frame i find that with overs i got more of a drop where partials keep more of the implant up at the top, so opposite to what you think, as with overs the muscles is not holding the implant in place as firmly so you get more of a drop so not as much fullness in the upper pole although with the right bra they can achieve that effect if you like that look.
with the 390 high profiles i have from a 30-b i am now a 30f although they do not look massive at all.
i hope you enjoy your boob journey and keep us posted babe xx
all the best

Thanks traci75, it hadn't occurred to me that partials might enhance the roundness at top. I have a 2nd consultation next week and think I will explore anatomicals further... I'd like them to look natural on the school run, taking kids swimming etc, but be able to ooomph them up when I want to show them off! I've got my head around the bwd thing and understand I need the implant width to balance my height, but projection is still a bit of a worry. Oh well, ops not till Jan, so plenty of time to fret over it.

Hi Carrie,
I am 5ft 7 and a big bigger than you in size, i had 375 high profile round overs and mine are very natural looking and in proportion. If you are worried see if you can visit your surgeon again and raise your concerns, he is the expert and will be able to explain it to you in more detail. Originally my surgeon asked what i didnt want to look like and i reeled off celebrities who had had their boobs done and looked unnatural and then explained the kind of natural look i wanted, this might help you explain it to him. Best of luck xx

You get just as much of a natural result from rounds as you do from anatomicals hun... just like the placement of t he implant the style of implant is unique to each patient too to get the best results...
Round breast implants are just that...round. If a round implant "turns" in the pocket, it is still round and symmetrical, and will not cause any distortion in the shape of the breast. Round implants are measured while lying on a flat surface. They come in smooth surfaces and textured surfaces. Round implants are less expensive than anatomical implants
It is a common myth that round implants always produce a more "fake" look. This is not the case. Rounds can look just as natural as anatomicals, and vice versa. Actually, when a round implant is held in a vertical position, it takes on the same shape as the anatomical implant. This has been proven through x-rays. The result you get with the type of implant you choose will depend on your anatomy, the amount of tissue you start with, as well as your plastic surgeon, and how he/she creates the pocket.
Round breast implants come in a variety of sizes and dimensions, as well as various profiles such as low, medium, and high profiles.

You can also see from this pic here hunni that my round overs give me a natural slope to my breast. xx

Hi hun, I agree with everything cookie has mentioned above. Also just wanted to add that the implants offered to you, may take you to a bigger cup size than a D, but i'd take a look at a few 32D bras and you will see that they aren't huge. I don't think mine look bigger than a DD in normal bras and I am a FF

Yes sweetie. Round, High profile. xx
Re: Will implants look too big or 'round' on top?!
Thanks everyone for your advice - especially the picture Cookie, it has reassured me about one of my main worries. If rounds can look as natural (as my surgeon seems to think they wll) then as least I wouldn't have to worry about anatomicals turning. I can hopefully handle the next 8 weeks of worrying, but just want to be able to enjoy new beautiful boobs after that!
