Re: Sports Bra for 3 Months! :(
Interesting thread, just had my bigger boobies last friday and my surgeon said at least 8-12 weeks to keep my bra and strap on for.
While I had chat with surgeon before I went down for the op that morning I changed size from 375 to 400cc, I was debating if I had done the right thing and asked the nurses for advice, i didnt want to be too big but worried with 375 i wouldnt quite make what i wanted, very friendly and helpful, they showed me their sizes and surprisingly they were both wearing support malcom bras, I asked how long since their ba and one was 8 months the other 18 months, when I asked why they said they will wear support / sports bras forever as the skin stretches daily and they wanted to keep them pert and up so they recommend wearing for work and daily life forever.
I was slightly concerned by this as I was looking forward to pretty no padded bras, not a life of sports bras!! Having said that I am so pleased and will be happy with wearing a mix of both :) going to Cuba in feb and can't wait to wear a Itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini!!!!

I will still be wearing some kind of support bra in bed at night but haven't seen my surgeon yet so I'll go by whatever he recommends. Althou I haven't seen any ladies wear their macom bra during the day 18 months later?

Emily you sound so much more upbeat today x I think I will stay in the sports bra's most of the time as I want to keep the shape , and just put on the fancy ones for little boosts and going out etc. I bet when we first put nice bra's on it's like being a kid again, when you get your first bra and you ate uncomfortable and can't get used to it x I can't wait to wear a bikini!!!!!!

I havent asked to be honest. I know others that have gone on the rides after a BA so I'm not too concerned. I had a friend that did a sky dive after one and the G-force is much higher than on any rollercoaster so I'm not too worried!! I might ask at my 12 week check though.

Re: Sports Bra for 3 Months! :(
Emily - I wear my sports bras still for the majority of the time. When your early post-op you tend to grow to hate your sports bra and long to get into wired pretty bras and they look so pretty and make your boobs look so good... But for every day whilst you're at work, the comfort you get from wearing support bras becomes so much more appealing than the wired bras.... It's strange, but most of do consider our sports bras and our bezzies after healing lol a hard concept to take in I know whilst you're early post op. but very true. And the nurses were right... Gravity will eventually affect us all, how you treat your boobs will have an impact on the length of time this happens, the more support and moisturising they get... The longer they'll maintain their look. Xx

Hi Jakki32,
Thanks for the message, I feel so fantastic today its unreal! I'm used to the back pain and can get out of bed on my own, the boobies are feeling fab too only a little stretched around the nipples and where I have the stitches, what a difference two days make!
Do want to post some pics for you to have a look at and see if you think I am swollen. Worried all my upper pole will dissapear if I am swollen and they have mch droppng and fluffing to do :(
Can't wait for the bikini!! xx

Re: Sports Bra for 3 Months! :(
Well I got a new sports bra today after trying on about forty different ones and sizes! How should the bra be 'fitted' so to speak? I don't feel that comfortable in this one but I dunno if its because up until now I have just been wearing my post surgery bras which are comfier. Should I be totally squished? Should I be able to get a finger or two inside the middle of the cups? Should the cups be completely full and almost tight and the bra be holding them in snug or what?

Well the nurse told me mine was wrong! It had no support at the front . I do have a weird shape though , with a funny breast bone so had a gape . Anyway, she said I needed support so that they couldn't jig . Got a shock absorber one today, feels snug , good fit on the cups, back comfy. Feels great. And no movement. Certainly is confusing though!
