Capsular Contracture Revision with The Hospital Gr
Hi girls,
I had BA + full anchor lift on the 1st of february 2012.I developed capsular contracture straight away.
I went to report this problem to my surgeon and i was advised i need a revision. My patient care coordinator advised me that my revision is free of charge as my after care includes capsular contracture cover for 3 years post op.
I complained in August and now is October, and all they keep telling me is that my surgery is soon.
What should i do?Im so sick of living with capsular contracture and ugly boob.I want it fixed asap but all they keep telling me is soon.
Did anybody had a similar experience? How soon did you get your revision done? What should i do?

So although the clinic have agreed to give you a free re-op hun, they aren't setting plans in place to arrange for you and it's now coming up to 3 months since they agreed?
Call them and tell them want a date for you re-op now. youve waited long enough babe. if they try to shrug you off again tell them straight that you'd like to use their complaints procedure hun. Explain to them the length of time you have been requesting a surgery date since agreement of the surgery has been made for you.
You should have been given a date when they agreed to your surgery babe, so it sounds like they're pretty much giving you the run around.
Don't take no messing from them sweetness, document all contact you have them
They'll either get you a date sorted once you threaten to complain, or you may have to go down that route...
If you do babe, just let us know and we'll walk you through how to deal with that.
Good luck and please keep us updated sweetie. Xx

What does that mean if they giving me run araound? They dont really want to re-op me? It was also agreed that as part of my revision i will go bigger,i even picked new size implants. It was agreed that revision cost is €1000 to go bigger.I wanted to pay is straight away and my patient care co ordinator told me not to be rushing with the paiment.I found its strange.
Im going away on holidays next week and i will give them a ring after that.

Are they charging you for the replacement implants Su?
If they are then that's not right, as you have CC the replacement of implants should be free, it doesn't matter that you want to go bigger, the implants are replacements, they won't be paying extra for them so neither should you! You should refuse to pay for the replacement implants Su, it's wrong that they are charging you.
By me saying the clinic is 'giving you the run around' I mean that they are making excuses every time you call so as not to have to arrange your surgery. Priority with these larger commercial clinics will be for the 'new patients' as you're a re-op, they just keep putting you back to keep the surgery slots for new patients.
You have to be firm with them Su, ask them why they're charging you for 'replacement implants' if they say it costs them more to get those for you, ask them to put that in writing for you. I know it doesn't cost more, because when I needed a free re-op, I was offered larger implants which I didn't want, but because they were replacement, I could choose what I wanted.
So demand a date Su, if you don't get one, ask for the details from them that you need to use the complaints procedure they have in place in there. Xx

Re: Capsular Contracture Revision with The Hospital Gr
thank you for your replys, you are very helpfull.
I have CC only in my right breast,so only right breast should be operated. But i want to put bigger implants in both breasts.
She did tell me,that they wil ring me wit surgery date only 1 week before surgery! So this means once they dont have anybody else to operate they operate me.So next time i will contact them should i tell them i want to complain obout it?The funny thing is,i have to complain to the patient care co ordinator, and she is the one i am talking to all the time.I dont particulary like her either.

Ahhh I see. Yes, having CC in one breast could explain them charging you for the implant.
Don't worry about your patient co-ordinator, once you go down the complaints procedure you'll be out of her hands then. You'll be making your complaint to the clinics compliance manager... I'm unsure who that is for your clinic but that's who the complaint will be sent to.
All you have to do for now, is call and tell them you've waited long enough now. Tell them the CC is causing you discomfort and you want a surgery date now.
Hopefully you'll be given a date then, if not, tell your PCC that you're not happy with how things are being dealt with and you'd like the details for you to use the clinics complaint procedure. Again, just saying this might get them to get you a date, but if not, don't worry, you'll get your date Su, you'll just have to put everything you've said here in writing and the compliance manager legally has a specified time frame in which to contact you. You should be given your date for your surgery hun. Xx
