ok ladies i need ur help again, sorry this might take a while to explain:

before my op my surgeon said i would need to be in a sports bra 24/7 for four weeks and wear a sports bra to bed for a further 2 weeks

after my op when i was zonked on drugs he said i would need to stay in the sports bra 24/7 for 2 weeks then wear a sports bra to bed for a further 4 weeks i didnt question this as just listening to him was hurting my brain lol and he said the nurses would give me further advice at my post op check

well as i said my post op check was a little vague and they said that after a couple of weeks (so that would be 3 weeks po) i could wear a (and i quote) ' a normal little bra thing for a few hours if i was going out' like a muppet i didnt ask if they meant underwires or not as i was more concerned that they were unsure if i needed to replace the tape on my inscisions or leave them uncovered!

so guys do u think at the weekend i could go and get fitted and get a couple of bras? and should i stick to non wired? i m not seeing my surgeon until 8 weeks po and i have exceeded their time restrictions on bra wearing?? it just seems very soon compared to everyone else on here and my boobs feel and look fine i ve just got a bit of muscle weakness still, i just don't want to bugger them up xxx

this is where im confused aswell because my surgeon said that I could go out and buy an underwired bra once I feel like I'm ready. but I'm going to stick to wearing my sports bra for 6 weeks and every night in bed just in case. I'm 1 and a half weeks post op x

A normal little bra may mean a soft cup small bra with little straps rather than a big old sports bra, but that's just my interpretation of it. I would give them a ring and check.

If your instructions are vague and you're at all unsure Sammi then a call to the clinic nurse tomorrow just to get things cleared up would be the best option. You don't have to travel to see her or anything, she can advise over the phone because she's already seen you hun. If she says it's fine, do remember to ask if you should buy wired or non-wired post op bra situation! 184153

Then if you are able to go out and buy bras now, I definitely wouldn't go mad that's for sure because being so early post-op you have a good possibility of your boobs changing so you could very well lose a lot of money. I'd personally just buy the one for now and then go for another fitting around the 6 week post-op mark. Even then I'd only buy the essentials due to further changes. Maybe just a black, a white and a nude so you have one to wear with everything. Then splash out a bit more after the 3 month post-op mark. xx

Different surgeons/clinics give different advice but the advice i was given and in general from what i have read it seems to be 6 weeks before underwires and 6 weeks wearing a bra to bed. You could ring the clinic and ask for their advice hun and just tell them your a little confused xx

My surgeon said a month until I could wear normal bras, however I am still in my sports bra because all the bras I tried on, even non wired ones are not comfortable at the moment.:( I am sad because I really want to bigger them up too! Haha

It was funny, I was trying on bras the other day at the mall and depending on the store, or type of bra, I was fitting into 34 B's, C's and D's! So as you can see sizing isn't that important, it's how they look to you:)
