I'm so excited now, please could you all tell me like what to take to the hospital and what i'll need after for when I'm at home? Also when they say recovery is a week are they telling the truth or is it longer?
Thanks lovelys xx

Congratulations franky!!!
You may find it helpful to read through a few of these threads to help you prepare found [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Everyone differs in their own experiences, for me I had two weeks off from work and that was enough. Do be aware though that you won't be allowed to lift or stretch very much for the first 6 weeks or until you're given the all clear from your surgeon so depending what your job involves you may need to make them aware you will be restricted manually (a bad back is a great excuse).
Also if you pop your date in the calendar [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] we can all be reminded of your special day! x

Re: All booked 10th September!!
Congratulations!!
To the hospital I just took my phone, some button-up pajamas, a button up top for the next day, change of knickers, makeup, hairbrush and deodorant and a sneaky supply of biscuits!
Everyone's different with their rate of recovery. I was able to dress myself and get ready the day after my op but i know that some people are in agony. A week after my op I was feeling back to my normal self, but 2 weeks after i'd say i felt back to normal...it didn't hurt at all to get up out of a chair or out of bed and I didn't have any achey-ness after waking up.
