How long does the achey-ness usually last?
I feel bruised but it's tolerable pain. I know recovery time depends on the person, but more or less how long does it last? 3 days? 1 week?
I can't wait to feel normal again!

So I should expect the pain to be bit longer for me since I had unders? Do yours feel heavy? Or like you have a ton of bricks on your chest? Or maybe mine feels that way since I still have the dressings put on from surgery.

Every day will feel a little bit better I promise! And you'll notice there are things you can manage to do that you couldn't before. The achey-ness went away towards the end of the first week for me, somewhere between days 5-7. Happy healing
Re: How long does the achey-ness usually last?
I suspect with unders your recovery time will be longer as the muscle has to adjust too...but I did have the weight-on-my-chest feeling, and everything felt really tight.

Yeah mine felt heavy and tight. Think how much they have just been through. Your very clever body is working overtime to fix any damage now and it's sending you pain messages to let you know that something traumatic just happened to them (don let your body know it was you that ordered it! Ha ha ). Just think about it without all of the added effects of an operation... You just added an extra 2lb to you chest, it's gonna feel heavy for now anyway! X

For me it seemed to gradually improve over the initial two weeks but I had overs. I really recommend icepacks to early PO girls... they were a blessing! x

Day 2/3 is generally the worst when all the swelling kicks in. After the first week for the majority things start to get better from from there, for others it may take up to 2 weeks before they feel better, but it's not long sweetie and it's little to pay for you new boobs.
Ice packs were my god send, they're very worth using hun and if you dont have ice packs, dig out a bag of frozen peas/rice/corn or anything really and just lay them on top of your boobs. The relief is heaven. xxx

And for some reason when I have to take off my sports bra to get in the shower, it's so uncomfortable and my boobs feel like they're pulling down on my chest. I can barely wait to get my bra back on!

Yes mrsball, it's the sitting up from laying down position that's bad. Walking is also a bit of torture. Well it's day 2 post op for us. Hopefully today will be better than yesterday.

It does get better hun, but I still get morning boob at 4 weeks post op. you need to master the bum shuffle, swing your legs over the side of the bed to minimise the pull as you lift yourself up x

Re: How long does the achey-ness usually last?
I found that putting my hands under my thighs (right under my bum) and swinging myself up from lying to sitting helped a lot x

I had to loosen my wrappings a bit coz I felt like I couldn't breathe. They were too tight.

Re: How long does the achey-ness usually last?
Day 3 post-op feels a lot better. Less achey ness. The heavy feeling is completely gone. Only the side of my right boob is a bit sore. But other than that, everything is grat! Yay!
