Nausea?
Has anyone gotten so nauseous after having your BA that you actually threw up? I was given a bunch of different medications for nausea (including a suppository...ugh) because throwing up after having implants is the last thing they want you to do. so just curious:)
I week to go!

Re: Nausea?
I know it's not what you want to hear, but I'm afraid I was quite sick for the whole day immediately having my BA. I don't react very well to morphine, it makes me throw up. My PS said they noticed I wasn't react very well to it when they gave it to me, by then it was too late though. I was given two doses of anti-nausea meds during op because I had asked for them, but I was still sick. I told them I had a tendency to be sick based on my previous c-section experiences. Problem is I didn't know morphine did this to me, I thought it was just the local instead. Now that I look back, I remember asking for a half dose only of morphine after my son was born and feeling immediately not so well, and not taking anymore. In hindsight this was an indication that my body doesn't agree with it, but I only put two and two together after my BA.
I don't want to scare you, but you did ask I'm not the norm though, not to this degree, a lot of people love the relief and feel good feeling of morphine. Also, I imagine I had more than the average ba since I also had a mastopexy and mini tt, hence longer time in op and more need for painkillers. xxx

Re: Nausea?
Personally, I didn't feel sick at all after my op. Not sure I had morphine though? I felt a bit wobbly and dizzy the first time I stood up to go to the loo but nothing too bad at all. I think it just depends how the stuff reacts with you

I wasn't sick after my op but I did feel kind of woozy and funny. I was really scared of being sick so very relieved that I wasn't!

Re: Nausea?
I've not had my BA yet but had loads of major operations and was always severely sick afterwards until I recently discovered I'm allergic to morphine. Had an op since without morphine and no sickness afterwards at all! I've informed my consultant of this fact so he is positive with the right anti emetics I will be fine after BA, might be worth just mentioning it to your anaesthetist before op! X

Re: Nausea?
Hmmmm...I've had two other operations in my life and never got sick from either of them, even after morphine I was fine. I think it just has to do with our bodies and how we react. Cross your fingers I will be ok...I really don't want to have to use the suppository! eeeeeeekkkkk!
